Any news from the clubs? League format being changed this year. North and South with top 4 in each qualifying for 'Champions League' to win the overall

Much better system being put in place for next season. Gives everyone an equal chance and decent amount of games. Should be a very even and interesting league. Pity the senior setup doesn't take similar steps.

For the upcoming 2014/15 season, the FAI have introduced a new format to the Under 19 SSE Airtricity National League. The teams across the country are now split into two sections – Northern and Southern Divisions.
The Elite Southern Division will consist as follows:
Athlone Town, Bray Wanderers, Cobh Ramblers, current Elite Division holders Cork City, Limerick FC, Mervue United, Salthill Devon, Shamrock Rovers, UCD, Waterford United and Wexford Youths.
The Elite Northen Division will contain the following teams:
Bohemians, Derry City, Drogheda United, Dundalk, Fanad United, Finn Harps, Letterkenny Rovers, Longford Town, Shelbourne, Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic.

Teams will play each-other twice in the season, home and away.
There will be Northern and Southern Divisional winners.
There will be a knock-out phase to see who will be crowned National U19 League Champions as follows:
The top 4 teams in each section will qualify for the quarter finals.
Teams 1 and 2 in each section will have home advantage.
1 North v 4 South / 2 North v 3 South / 1 South v 4 North / 2 South v 3 North.
The Semi Final and Final will be Open Draw.
The season will kick off on the week ending 30th August 2014 with fixtures released on July 18th.
The prestigious Enda McGuill Cup will be retained.

I didn't say the senior league should be like that. I said it should take similar steps. Also, not sure wallopes is even a word.

Was there not supposed to be a Kerry representative in this season's edition?
I only heard talk earlier in the year of looking to upgrade facilities in Tralee and then looking at the U19 set-up. Hard to know, I haven't heard much word about it now. The A Championship clubs seem to have got burnt by the who experience and are gone.

On the current league as it stands:
North - Dundalk are flying it at the top of the league. Shel's, for a first division club at senior level, are going well in 5th. Sligo are 7th.


South - Cork City likewise are flying it in the south. Waterford are an impressive 2nd and Limerick 3rd. Shamrock Rovers surprisingly are only 7th!
