Great work. There's a typo for one of the Athlone players though - you have Joey Salmon in as Martin Salmon in the '2 goal' section.

Cool, good work. I wonder how many of these also scored for non League of Ireland clubs in Europe? I'll start the bidding at four...

Haylock (Linfield), Tambling (Chelsea), Giles (Leeds), McEvoy (Bangor) were the 4 on ther list I was thinking of who've also scored for non-LOI clubs

Haylock scored for Panionios as well.

Is there then no other player who's scored for a LoI side and a non-Home Nations team?

Tommy Stewart ever score for Linfield in Europe? I'd imagine a few may have scored for Irish League clubs too.
Richie Foran score for a Scottish team in Europe?
Joey N'do score elsewhere in Europe?

How about those to score in European competition and in another continental competition? Eamon Zayed?

Stewart, Foran, N'do ... all negative.

Have any of our teams ever qualified for Europe and failed to score... I'm sure the answer is no... but...

No.

Home Farm and Bray are worst with just the one goal. Bray have played four games; Home Farm two.

The only teams to lose every game in Europe are Galway United (6) and Sporting Fingal (2). They bought managed to score 4 times though

I asked the question and I thought about Fingal, given that realistically it was unlikely.

Those Fingal results still make me warm and fuzzy inside.

Harps draw them very close in those stakes. One 0-0 draw in eight games in the Cup Winners Cup against Bursaspor. Conceded thirty-seven goals in those eight games, scoring only five.

What about goalkeepers?
Which LOI keeper has made most LOI club appearances in European competition? How many goals did he concede?

Two more.... Jimmy McGeough (Waterford) and Bobby Gilbert (Shamrock Rovers) also scored in Europe for Derry City when they were an Irish League club

There's a blast from the past: Bobby Gilbert. I wonder is he still with us. Must be in to his 80s now.

*Drums fingers impatiently on the table waiting for David McMillan ascent* ;-)

By my reckoning McMillan goes up to joint third, and top of the Champions League list with 6 goals (ahead of Crowe/Byrne with 5 each). Robbie Benson a new entry with 2. Alan Bennett up from 1 to 2. Will be interesting to see how busy Dundalk can keep you in the next six games.........
