Well that went well. I wasn't there, I couldn't get off work in Baile Ath Cliath, but can't imagine there'd be too many complaints.

Nice to see The Don off the mark btw, won a peno and hit the post too it seems. If we get him fully fit and motoring with Sully in the form he's in there won't be many teams looking forward to playing us.

It's brilliant that De Town are hitting a bit of form at last, but lets not get too carried away a long way to go yet, Finn Harps, Wexford and Galway I'm sure will give us plenty to think about, and the way football is I'm sure others will frighten the sh1te out of us too.

Best thing about last night was the return of the Don......up front!

Great win last night, always nice to get a few goals, and Shels loosing was a bonus. We played well at times, but they were poor. Great to see Don scoring, and as remarked above, playing up top. At the moment however I would continue with Shaw partnering Sully, as both really have been in great form of late. Be no harm to ease Don back into it, using him as an impact sub and have him fully fit and fresh after the break. Although i'm a fan of Kevin O'Connor, I feel the wing is not the place for him, and it was pleasing to see two natural wingers playing last night. Would like to see Russell getting more game time as I do feel he has a very good left foot, and great delivery on dead balls. I'm just nit picking now, on a very satisfactory evening.

One final point, from talking to a few people there were mixed opinions on Friday night football. I know we've tried it on occasion before, but what are peoples views on it? Yes the Rovers games are the only ones down for Friday nights, but is it something that could be looked at again?

I've mixed views on Friday nights myself, on a personal level it'd be a disaster for me but I've always thought it could suit the Longford based people better than Saturday if they got used to the idea. 8.00 on a Friday as with last night could be worth a try IMO.

It's all down to personal circumstances I suppose. Prior to now I would have always insisted on keeping the 7-30 Saturday tradition but now that I'm working Fridays would actually suit me much better so basically your never going to suit everyone but I do think we should push those 7-30 kick offs to 7-45

I didnt realise that we only got 125 fans last Friday night from speaking to Tony Ghee at Cobh game. We used to get more when we werent playing as great I am very worried about this. Does Longford Town deserve a Loi team anymore?

Personally, it wouldn't be any harder to make than a Saturday, but it'd have to be 8pm kick off's. Summer football is a balls for clashes with other activities in my experience, but that could be somewhat off set with Friday night games. 8pm at least gives people a chance of making it down from Dublin/ Galway or wherever, and even 18:05 train should just about get you out to Mullologher for around kick off.

Think Saturdays always suited country teams who would have a lot of fans living away. I've never liked Friday games but maybe at this stage it should be thought about as the attendances are getting dire.

In terms of people living away not sure if rushing down after work/college on a Friday is attractive either. At least with games on a Saturday, people can have a few pints etc after work on a Friday and then head down to Longford for a match on a Saturday.

On the other hand for people living in Longford there is next to nothing to do in town on a Friday night so there would be an opportunity there to promote games to people.

Would 100% agree with summer football in general getting in the way of things for people. There is always some sort of social event on every weekend and you can't blame people for wanting to get out and make use of their free time during the summer. On top of that, we're in direct competition with the Gaa, not in terms of clashing county game times but for young potential fans who have a game or training on a Friday or Saturday.

Pints after work - those were the days! :) I don't think there's a time that suits everybody, or that is the silver bullet in terms of attendance. I probably wouldn't be pushing for a change at the moment, but if we ever get back up to the premier with more attractive fixtures it should be considered again.
