I am on the fence about this one. It should be.... less green. There are two other f***ing colors in the tricolor.
Can anyone explain to me why we are the only fans in the world who have to wear a jersey with a monstrosity of a logo always on it?

Is it just me or does it make them look like they have beer bellies? I don't like the collar either. I don't buy Ireland jerseys but I'd be less inclined to buy this one than previous ones.
The logo is because the FAI need to exploit all income sources and having a sponsor on the replica shirts brings in money. I don't know if we're the only country that do it but I can't think of any major nation that does it. I don't have a problem with it though.

I think there's a general trend towards one-colour kits. Bit still, I don't like the green shorts. For once, TOWK has a point; too much green.

Not a fan of the green shorts. In fact, they don't even look the same tone of green as the jersey. At first glance, I thought Umbro had just used Cork's current template:

In terms of the sponsorship logo that has always featured for as long as I can remember and, most likely, always will, I think other associations will follow suit in the future. Opel were the first to feature in the late '80s, if I'm not mistaken. I've seen a lot of England gear in the sports shops over here of late with the Vauxhall logo across it. Sure, it only features on training gear for now and not the national jersey, but I'm sure associations will see greater commercial value in such a feature. Not that I'm necessarily advocating it. If I had my choice, I'd rather not be a walking advertisement for Three when wearing my Ireland jersey, but c'est la vie.

Just get a sponsorless one. POSH can hook you up with one of the true fans on YBIG.
I think the shirt is okay. But the green shorts are a disgrace.

Yeah, Meyler especially and he's a athlete, I can't imagine what it would do to my 6 pack....

It's down to the strange choice of lighting for those photos rather than the jersey. I'm not a fan either way.

I can't remember the last time I actually liked our home kit.

It seems umbro suffer the same plight in designing our home jerseys as do the team on the pitch at the moment ---- lacking serious creativity!
Although - i thought the anthem jacket looked nice last night albeit i was sitting a fair distance from the team when they had it on
The below link was the last home jersey that i really liked ..............1996 qualifiers!

I have a long-sleeved 2002-2004 shirt which I think is nice. We got the current, horrible, FAI crest after that which has blighted any shirt since, though I think most of the designs have been ok. I like when there's a bit of orange on the shirt.

The recent shirts haven't been all bad. I liked this one:

Nah, most modern shirts are naff/crap...we haven't a decent one since O'Neill's were involved.
Strangely though, our Umbro kits have been better than our Adidas ones...

I really like that one, brings back good memories of the West Germany shirt from 88-90. My first international as an attendee was the friendly against them.

I still love the 88-90 era crest. Why couldn't the FAI have licensed that?
The new one has been a jinx.

Agreed, or even the 'rugby' logo. Had a few of those shirts, besides historical significance, they were truly naff.

You'd think the FAI would have updated the official store advert on their website seeing as we've had two new home jerseys since this one...

I don't even think the store is there anymore. Well it wasn't in March.
Favourite shirts ever are WC90, ECQ96 (First Umbro kit, Dougal one, own) and the one we had before the Euros (own, no sponsor).

Too much green in this outfit, the colour is fine but the green shorts are overkill. Maybe it's some experiment in stealth.
The 3 logo doesn't make it onto the pitch, therefore it doesn't threaten my visual experience.

Likes: not fussy, no go faster stripes, no "trim" ar anything else to make it appeal to the, um, "clubwear" sector.
dislikes: by accident or design (I susect an accident rationalised after the fact) the green shorts are indeed a different tone to the shirt. The shorts tone is better in my opinion. Make the whole thing the tone of the shorts. It's a warmer green.
The neck and collar is a bit between-the-wars as well. What have they against simple round necks? In fairness I'm unlikely to buy one anyway with that great big vulgar '3' on it.

Absolutely agree. Reminds me of World Cup 2002 when Shay Given was wearing a black jersey and navy shorts. Makes us look amateurish

I like the use of the old (2000-2009) Umbro logo. Impressive stuff. I noted that the FAI have it on their website too. Amateur hour.

Don't forget the Kerry GAA shirt we wore once, at home to Norway in the early 80s. Hooped socks too.
There's a pic of it in a thread from years back.
