highlights for me were bowies set and dire straits sultans of swing and not forgetting simon le bon's dropped note on the reflex. :D

sounds top quality,i'd say it would be pretty expensive though.

It's better watching the performances anyway than just listening so i'll get the dvd.

Was Michael Jackson at Live Aid?Prob the american version I suppose.

I wasn't born till 88 (well yea  ) and it's still had a massive impact on me from seeing the videos! :D (and not just regarding synchronised Christmas parties!)
Aye I love Bob Geldof-"sod the adress give them the phone njumber it's the phones we're going to get the money from; people get of your backside and phone now! Tonight!" legendary bloke! :D
Will deffo be buying Band Aid III-aye lots of arguments against it but I think Band Aid is a great cause/idea so I'll be jumping on the Band (Aid) Wagon......sorry it's been a long week

Great. I can't wait to see Led Zep again.... Oh wait, they're not on it, seen as they got their lawyers to prevent it, cos they weren't happy with their performance

It's hardly the same thing though. Serves them right anyway for getting a jet-lagged ('some more champagne Mr.C.' 'Why, thank you stewardess') Phil Collins to drum for them.
Don't get me wrong, should be a good dvd anyway.
The 20th anniversary is just a coincidense. Took Bob Geldof 18 years of legal red-tape to get the video out.

Highlight is without doubt still Bob interrupting the tv link man telling him to put the phone numbers back on "Don't go to the pub tonight, stay in and gives yer f*cking money!".

hmmmm that was a difficult question :D

it really was some day even for an 8 yr old who was only getting into music, sowed the seeds for an interest in music for me.

can anyone confirm that the cd contains mostly studio versions of the songs that were played on the day interspersed with bits of live stuff thrown in?.

i heard the start of the cd the other morning on the radio and it started with the introduction from the day itself followed by the first track from the gig and it was a studio version of "rocking all over the world" by quo.

They say they're refunding the VAT, however, this apparent refund will come out of the oversea's aid budget....

Anyone confirm or deny what 12th man was saying? Is it all live footage/live audio? Don't want to add it to my christmas wish list if it's just studio tracks and a bit of footage from the day...
