We are grateful for that but lets be fair, those nights out were a nice release for ye from L@ngerland. I do agree that the title is not over yet. 4 points is not impossible. Stranger things have happened in football.

now now longford is every City fans second team so you should be nicer to us!

you've never had the pleasure of an anvil weekender Corner!
maybe we can have a poll of second favourite teams !?
can someone do that?
I have an odd situation - I grew up in Derry, but have spent the last six years in Cork. I support Cork, but when they play Derry I switch sides! The exception was last week - glad Cork won, Derry are safe and there's still a good chance for Cork to win the title - Four points isn't that much.

MaxinePower....are you always a miserable git or gitess?..any post i have seen of you on any forum(even though you spend most of your time here with real fans)its always a miserable moan..Fair dues to Longford on winning the Cup but you support possibly the smallest club in the country so fcuk off and talk about it with your own fans if there is internet in your remote little town.... ;)
My 2nd team is Cobh Ramblers followed by Galway United which was always a great trip to make over the years... :)

I kinda like Sligo aswell, great town, like Galway aswell and Limerick. Cobh i suppose, couldn't leave them out like :)
In the premier it is Derry and Longford.
Dead right about Sligo...i have been up there a few times and its a good spot for a night out also..i think when you see the likes of Home Farm/Dublin City in the Premier and see these two big clubs(including Galway) in the 1st division its sad.. :)

Longford are in a very real danger of finishing second last if they don't get some points from their next 2 games, and with Dublin City travelling to the Flansiro at some stage, I'd hate to think what might happen. How about that for motivating the under 12's.

as long as city CONTINUE to win their remaining games i cant complain or either should anybody else. regarding the fans favorite away games i have never been to a longford game but imo it would take alot of doing to beat the derry lads.

no problem with that,we have a great season so far, the league is a benchmark of where you are in terms of being the best...u can get lucky in cups, its a one off game...
anyway at least u wont be playing for or having a say in your line ups against shels and im sure longford wont role over that easily ;)

One way to ensure ye don't finish last is by beating Shels either tonight or at the weekend. That would ensure Dublin City couldn't catch you.
It would also give us a hand :D
Of course if you'd really prefer Shels to win the league than Longford to ensure their safety in the Prem Division thats up to you.

Longford hold key to title race
FAI Cup winners Longford Town could hold the fate of the eircom League title in their hands when they visit Tolka Park tonight for the first two games this week against Premier Division leaders Shelbourne (kick-off 7.45pm).
Defending champions Shels hold a four-point advantage over second-placed Cork City and are just four games away from clinching back-to-back titles.
Two of those games are against Longford, whom they meet in a return league fixture at Flancare Park next Saturday night. Anything but maximum points for the Dubliners from those games will keep the nerves jangling a little longer as the season draws to its conclusion.
Despite winning the FAI Cup for the second year in succession 10 days ago, adding to their League Cup success earlier in the campaign, Longford’s league form has been unimpressive and they are still mathematically in danger of relegation.
But Alan Matthews’ side will be encouraged by Shels’ current dip in form at Tolka Park, with the Dublin side scoring just once in three winless home games.
Longford will have midfielder Dean Fitzgerald available again following a one-match ban which ruled him out of last weekend’s defeat at St Patrick’s Athletic while frontman Dessie Baker could also return having missed the same game through injury.
Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon could well leave things intact and stick with the same side that started the goalless draw at home to title rivals Cork last Friday night.

Can I hold out a vestige of hope to you nervous Corkonians. Tonight is the night when Longford Town might upset the applecart for Shels. The teams best performances are reserved for away matches against the top teams.
Unfortunately the reverse is the case for home games (as ye witnessed lately in Flancare) so Shels to coast home at the weekend.
Would ye settle for 50/50 split of results? ;)
