The Eircom League hour last night was interesting stuff. Had Ollie Byrne, a dude from Rovers, Pat's general manager and some Bohs honcho in talking about where the Eircom League needs to go etc etc. Pie in the Sky stuff but it was good listening.

The Rooney thing is a bad joke. First the League issue a statement saying they were 'disappointed' in his performance. (Presumably cos he is the reason they are so incompetent). Then the League managers association come out in support of him. It's an absolute joke.

So I wonder what happens. If a majority of the FAI Board of Management express a no-confidence does it then become an issue of the FAI Council voting and if there's a no confidence there he'll have to fall on his sword? Or will a majority of a (pretty corrupt non-partisan) Board telling him that they've shafted him be sifficient to have him out?

theres a message gone up on the official cork city site saying they want to distance themselves from the statement issued by the eircom league board of control last night (www.corkcityfc.ie). the groundswell of eL support is in favour of rooney as far as i can tell, but this is possibly just because we're all so sick of the usual cr@p we get from the old boys who seem to be pulling there usual stunt of trying to oust anyone with progressive ideas (progressive like 'lets get shot of the old boys gang' for example).
