They played it on Never Mind the Buzzcocks yesterday or Monday. Was the band called 'The Piranas' or something like that?

Try this for size:
The song is called Tom Hark by the Piranhas, which was in the charts summer 1980. The original version was by a band called Elias and his Zigzag Jive Flutes and charted in 1958.
