I wonder who will cover the match on Friday. RTE or TV3? Listening to the Big red Bench on Friday, Trevor was saying that the match should be on TV.
My bet is still on RTE though. All there showing on Friday is a Bond film.

I am with euphoria on this one. There seems to be a jinx on City whenever we are playing in front of a live TV audience. And if the night is a bit damp or cold, how many of the exiles will become bar stoolers instead of coming out in support?

i hope no one covers it. It will seriously kill off the crowd going to the match.
I doubt that - this could be the biggest league game of the season - a chance to watch Shel$ campaign implode - or to watch them tighten their grip on the league. If the TV heads had any sense (not that I think they have!) they should be bidding for this one already. Next year it could all be on Setanta!(hopefully) :D

what the hell do you mean by that comment the exiles may not be many but
i think you will find most of the exiles will be at the match there is only about 20 of us but any time city are playing in dublin we are always there :no matter the weather or who we are playing    :

Well said exile, we sing as loud (and as long) as most fans at the games in dublin.
What is the Guiness Book Of Record for the number of minutes of uninterupted singing of 'pat dolan's REBEL ARMY'?

Actually i would be thinking along the same lines .... bigger crowd if not on TV.
This could be a very important moment for any City fan, no matter where in the world. "Where were you when City beat $h€l$ in their own backyard in 2004" ...... i know for a fact that i want to say Tolka !! Any self respecting City fan would want to say Tolka.
Roll on Friday night ..... We march into Tolka Park and take what is ours !!

What exactly are you trying to imply here?
if you're suggesting that just because we're Dublin based that our allegiance has been diluted then you're well out of f*cking line FPB

where the hell do you get off on making a statement like that your bang out of order you will find exiles driving all over the country to support city and the few that drove to derry last nite longford and waterford the week before
and last friday nite when some of us had to go straight back up to dublin
i have yet to meet any ccfc exile thats a barstooler

We have the break the tv jinx at some stage...I seem to remember that we beat shels a few years ago, handing bohs the title and that was on tv....lets remember that one if the game is on tv.

Indeed, its too much of a scapegoat. The "we never do well on tv" argument can't go on.
The last two games were fairly high pressure games, against $hels and bohs, but i think city arent under as much pressure as those games on Friday. Dolans goal was to come 3rd first season and 2nd this season, and i think 2nd is almost guarenteed now,so city can play a bit of football on friday and show $hels how the game should be played!

It's almost a certainty that this years league champions will be playing in Tolka on Friday night.

ya fcuk you,do you realise that the "exiles" are probably the people who go to the most away games out of any of the supporters, shels, bohs, pats, rovers, dublin city, longford, derry plus we go home for all the home games

Ya I was commenting to Tik Tok and few others how unseasonally warm and balmy it was at Flancare last week, You obviously dont have a clue who the exiles are, or you wouldnt have made such a daft comment, I know you post here a fair bit but stick to things you know about. Ive been soaked and frozen in all but the Brandywell this season, and from the faces Ive seen, so have alot of the other Exiles, Its alot easier to follow a team when you live within a few miles radius, I havent missed any of the Dublin games and the closest one is a 70 mile round trip (Hope to see Bray up next year, make things a bit easier on me!). This forum and others are great, but you cant beat sitting around with mates who are also supporters, few and far between up these parts, although I have converted one Dub!
So next time you feel like posting sh1t like that, at least have something to substantiate it with. Looking at the variation in attendances in the X this year I think there is alot more barstoolers and sunshine supporters in Cork than based up here, the same Exiles are at games rain, hail or shine, whether its shels, UCD, Continuity Home Farm, and whether its a title challanging run, or a depressing Euro Hangover Cup game.

Woah woah woah!
I agree that the exiles are great and that they do go to most of the games but as you know there's a hell of a lot of us in Cork who travel to every game aswell.
I think that was proved in Derry last night, Longford last week and the fact there has been at least one bus load to almost every game in Dublin this season.

You obviously dont have a clue who the exiles are, or you wouldnt have made such a daft commentFrom your own posts and those made by others, that is obvious to me now. I always took "Exiles" to mean City supporters living in Dublin, plus other Cork people who might be persuaded to attend. I would never insult the people you and others describe. Ye are the back bone of City support, as far as I am concerned.
The people I asked the question about are the hundreds of first-timers, or seldom supporters, who I hope will support City on Friday. If they travel a distance to watch the match, they will probably go even if there is a blizzard. But as for the potential first-time Cork supporters who live in Dublin, will they be any different to those in Cork who wouldn't stir themselves off a bar stool to go to a match at the Cross, if the game is on telly?
That was my point, but mea culpa for annoying the sh!t out of so many people. I promise to hold the TIFO flag in the sh!ttiest weather as penance, ok?

Agreed 100% Colm.
I think that was proved......
you and the people you're referring to have nothing to prove to anyone with respect to their support of the club ;)

Apology accepted. :)
I guess not everyone is aware that we the term 'exiles' in a more 'official' ;) manner to describe a very definite few faces who live in Dublin and try to meet up for the games.
You might want to take back that TIFO offer though, I'm looking out the window here at work and the weather is very very sh1tty :D

Thats fair enough, I see what you were saying, you can rest assure the regular Exiles will be there Friday, we might even give you a pair of gloves to keep your hands warm waving that Tifo flag :D
Is the game being televised or not??
Hope it isnt tbh, could find ourselves falling foul of the 'TV jinx'.
