Do Pats fans boycott Richmond for the unfortunate accident to saw a person fall through the floor of a seated area and injured?
Presumably most were happy that he was treated immediately by trained medical professionals, unlike in Oriel.

Official attendance for St Pat's CY v St Pat's was 672.

145 at UCD v Galway.
About 1/3 of that from Galway.

I counted 251 at St Colman's, though that was towards the end of match, so might have missed some people.

the Cobh Ultras were gone by then! Though they only watched about 30 minutes of the game in total.

I think all Dundalk fans wished this guy a speedy recovery, and I sincerely hope he did last year.
So a simple question, Are Pats planning to travel in big numbers for this game or not?
If not, I think that's a real pity as there is going to be a cracking atmosphere, thankfully the WC game on at same time doesn't appear to taking any interest away from the match by local fans.
The away section is as it was unfortunately, improvements won't take place until next season, but most know that by now. However there will be around 150-200 stand seats made available, possibly more.

We won't know until Friday night I suppose but I haven't seen any mention of a bus going up so might be a poor enough crowd of us. I hope not.

Absolutely we all hope the lad made a full recovery. Never heard anything since from any party one way or another. As the accident happened in the Stand Oriel the condidtion of the away terrace would have little to do with any boycott. Questions do still remain but there is no point in rehashing the unfortunate incident and as it was an accident in the stand that meets regulations it would be nice for the club to have the Pats fan involved invited as a guest at the upcoming fixture!
I plan on being there. I know others who aren't going that usually do. I think boycott shouldn't be used tbh as it's not like it's an organised thing
68 people at Belgrove v Harps
Jeezus wept, do the Belgrove squad not have 3 or 4 family or friends each who'd come out for their big game?

Well, they can't have too many friends at all, as would wager that about 20 of that at least were Harps fans.

Attendance at Wexford v Bray was (cough) 216 according to the local papers.

Went down to Limerick on Saturday to take in the cup game v Bohs. 842 at it on a fine summers' evening at a ground with excellent facilities, shows how difficult it is to get the Irish soccer/sporting fans to attend games on a regular basis. Any Bohs fan who might have been at it be able to say how many of them there, my guess from opposite stand would be around 90, but when driving past them outside stadium it looked like more. Excellent match programme by Limerick, but maybe 4euro a little too much.

The results and atmosphere (or lack of it) have really seen the attendances dive at Thomond. Market's Field project seems to be stalled again.

Definitely over 150. Probably 170-180.
Limerick's best performances have been away from home. We've only picked up 7 points at home, whereas we've picked up 10 points away.
The pitch was obviously only sanded very recently, as there was big puff of sand raised every time the ball bounced or it was kicked off the ground. The rain we've had since saturday will have helped to work it into the soil, so the playing surface should be in good nick by the time we come back after the mid-season break. Hopefully that will help the team keep up its recent good form in the league and bring back some of the fans who have been staying away recently.

Do Limerick always have the pitch that wide for all games? They did try to play a passing game most of the time, but poor execution and Bohs pressing meant they rarely created openings. Usually a tight pitch suits a route one team, we all remember Lansdowne Road under Jackie Charlton, but it seemed to me that the wide pitch benefited the long ball style of Heary's team on Saturday; Bohs first goal being a good example. Pity about the style of play as Bohs have some decent players this year.
A Limerick fan told me at half time that it could be years, if ever, before the Market's Field is open for soccer.

Who knows. Thomond rent must be starting to create quite a hole though.

As mentioned on the thread for tonight's game but just on here for records.
Dundalk v Pats, 3,135
It did seem to be more, unless there was an issue with the scanning, but they are usually spot on.

St. Pats fans deserve a mention. Big away support as befits the reigning champions.
There were quite a few in the home section of the stand as well.
I had a great chat with a few of them, they were so unlike the Pats fans you come across on social media.

Limerick fans, feel free to tell me I'm talking complete nonsense. Probably the hardest ground to guesstimate a crowd in.

If you were in the usual "away" section across from the home support, you'd have a better idea than most Limerick supporters. Stand can't see the terrace and vice versa. I assume then there was no official attendance announced?
If anyone didn't know, the Chairman was on Facebook the other day pleading for more supporters to actually go to games, and implying fairly heavily that the drastic drop in numbers is becoming a serious financial issue. But with Netherlands/Spain and UCD unlikely to bring many being added to the existing issues, you could count on there being a very bad crowd there tonight.

I was facing the main stand in the press area. But the stand is so big it's hard to work out a guesstimate, and the multi-coloured seats don't help either.
Nothing announced that I heard anyway.

Judging from the terrace if there was 800 and odd at the bohs match then 400 and odd seems fair enough tonight.
Lot of presumably freebies in thomond suite and over on west stand side though so who knows.
First game i was at in Thomond where an attendance wasnt announced which probably tells a tale in itself

Not a good crowd in bray last night, maybe around 600-700, very poor home crowd. The world cup probably had a say in this.

1,600 to see 2 mid table teams at the same time Holland play Spain in a World Cup isn't bad.

It is when you've only been a midtable team for a few weeks and started the season with 2500-3000 a week.

500 according to the Star, at a stretch Iwould say.300 or so Bohs fans.Smallest crowd there since the 90's for this fixture
Bohs could have scored 8 . Huge difference from the Bray side that played us off the park in the first half in Dalymount this season.

Gives the lie to the theory (often voiced on this forum) that better facilities and attractive stadiums will attract barstoolers to the League of Ireland.

They do matter up to a point, enough clean toilets, hot food, covered seating etc.
However, once adequate, it is the football and the atmosphere that attracts people.

They won't attract barstoolers alone but they are a factor when trying to attract new fans. Product on the pitch, atmosphere, ticket price are all as important.

I think when people encourage "better facilities" on this forum, they don't mean a gigantic stadium like Thomond Park. Its size relative to the crowds, even at their height for Limerick while there, has always been an issue.

There was an attendance of 328 at the match in Athlone and yet Drogs fans were(apparently) able to get down the tunnel and to the dressing room doors to confront Drog officials.I'm asking about the security at the ground in this instance?
Didn't happen. They were in the public area outside the main stand and swiftly moved on.

In fairness I was putting stuff in the car when it kicked off outside. If Atfc-1887 SAW someone in the tunnel/dressing room area then fair enough! Would be surprised though. There's usually a couple of lads standing between the tunnel and dressing room though.
