We just couldn't get it on target, kept knocking it over the bar for some reason. 21 times in all. terrible wastefulness.

Pats v UCD live on Friday the 15th and Rovers v Rovers live on August 29th. Mentioned it during the match on TV last night.

Quick semi-relevant question: do we expect the launch of UTV Ireland next year to benefit the League of Ireland in terms of TV coverage?

Dunno, I can't remember them ever showing the Irish League. More likely they will be looking for the English teams in Europe off TV3 and 3e. They will have a Friday evening sports round-up, though.

More to the point, has anybody in the FAI thought it worth making a pitch?
Edit
Flogging UTVI the League Cup semis and final might be worth a punt as a trial?

If they'll take it, they an have it. That's pretty much how LOI TV works
The upcoming Pats v Dundalk game is on RTE according to Pat Morley

That would be great and I hope it is, as I'm stuck in the house that night, can't make this game.

Cork won't know how to spend all the TV money they are due from this season ;)

Credit to Setanta for the sensible kick off time. RTE's system of bringing games forward to 7.05 on a Friday is a joke

What is this our 6th or 7th game? Lets do the maths on that... 7 times 0, carry the one....

There has been Rovers TV, then Cork TV, now its the turn of Dundalk TV.
Away games against Athlone and Bray are to be televised by RTE. The home game against Shamrock Rovers will be televised by Setanta and will be our first home league game to be televised this season.

Disgraceful Dublin bias from RTE.

Is that definitely confirmed by RTE showing Dundalk matches away to Athlone & Bray?
I thought I read before that they were going to show live games on these two Friday nights but it would be either Dundalk or Cork games.
Also heard there are no plans to televise the final match of the season between Dundalk & Cork.

If that's true and that match is meaningful that plan will surely change.

Yeah. RTE want title winning games, celebrations, trophy presentations. If that's Dundalk/Cork, they'll find space.

No doubt. They are probably waiting to see if it will be a title decider before adding it to the schedule.

7.05PM away kick offs in Athlone and Bray. Will def take at least 150/200 off our crowds to both (Unless we can win it in Bray, then im sure we will take 1000)
Fcuking RTE and their ****ty Kick Off Times

Whatever about Bray,it'll definitely have an effect on attendance in Athlone. With work I would have just made the 7.45 kick off but not now. It really annoys me that they are allowed to change a kick off time that will end up costing the home club money.

This is my problem too. I live in Kilkenny and can only just make our home games for 7:45. Early kick offs are a disaster. However, Setanta's 8pm start on Friday coming is more than welcome!

RTE didn't show the trophy presentation last year

Defo did for Sligo in 2012.
Last year they didn't show any games from the final 2 weeks of the league season

Not on telly now as per Athlone's Twitter. Remains 7.45 ko.

Setanta are showing City v Drogs on Friday so I would have been surprised to see another game live at the same time on RTE.

D'oh, so it is... Well at least your kick off hasn't been moved, it's definitely worse for away fans.

Has anybody explained why RTE always move the kickoff back to 7.05? Obviously it's so they'll be finished by 9, but sure they only show ****e then anyway. They used to do the same with the rugby when they had it. It's hardly to avoid a clash with the Late Late.

Not like them to broadcast a midweek game. They still can't leave the kick off time either.
