I see a lot of TOWK in you, Stutts.

Anyway, someone should tell Kevin that we don't want him to do different things better, we want him to do what Robbie did, create & score goals or just score goals
If Robbie thought other stuff was important, then he would have done it ....... better than anybody else.

I was gonna say it. But now I can rest easy that we now have a new meme. Go Chuck go.

That's an almost beautiful summation of the player. Well played sir.

Italy look a little short on subs.

Ah, Andrea Ranocchia, he was always an instant buy in PES when a 16yo.

And now the time is upon us... link me people...

Keith Andrews looks like he's been to the hairdresser for a perm, I want to check out his suit but I am just wondering what he has on his head. The point is to look good, but don't deflect from the highlight with some other distraction.
Good lively pundit review with Keith, Kev Kilbane and Brian Kerr.

To think Keano want to leave days like this for Cowdenbeath, Perth and Aberdeen

TheOneWhoKnocks
31/05/2014, 6:45 PM
Well.... replace Whelan, Wilson and McClean with Hendrick, Meyler and Pilkington and you have more of a goal threat anyway.

That Italian anthem is for cissies, an embarrassing ditty to sing before going into battle.

The Italian goalie is the grand master of the Orange Order this evening, a horrendous joke of an outfit.

Forde goes down with lightening speed. to catch that ball.

Pearce isn't use to our 'play it out from the back' game.

Charlie Darwin
31/05/2014, 7:00 PM
Montolivo - I've never seen an injured player look cooler. He really wears a bruised knee with style.

The entire Italian team look like something out of GQ.

BonnieShels
31/05/2014, 7:02 PM
What was the tackle like?

EDIT: Saw replay. eugh.

Charlie Darwin

What was the tackle like?
Pearce won the ball but their knees clashed in the follow-through, just unfortunate.

geysir
31/05/2014, 7:04 PM
It wasn't even a tackle, Pearce got there first and there was a collision of sorts, Pearce just has tough legs, no crime in that.

Ray Hudson on the bein sports link I'm watching on, he's an absolute nutcase, never a dull game with him on commentary

edit, thats a pen!

That would have been a penalty for our Shane.

Freaky stuff to see 4 of our players pressing the Italians in their half as they try to play the ball out.

geysir
31/05/2014, 7:12 PM
We have these Italians on the rack.

TheOneWhoKnocks

Just as predicted, Meyler, Hendrick and Pilkington have all offered a lot going forward.

You can tell that Pilkington is playing for a move.

Charlie Darwin
31/05/2014, 7:22 PM
Difficult header for Long as he was reaching back but the best strikers would score.

SwanVsDalton
31/05/2014, 7:23 PM
Should be in front. Some great stuff in the last 15 minutes. Players really snapping into the Italians in their own half.

Cracking atmosphere at the game, doesn't feel like a friendly. Wondering if the players are benefiting from the atmosphere and occasion away from the doldrums of the Aviva. They certainly seem like a different team sometimes when playing away.

TheOneWhoKnocks

The entire Italian team look like something out of GQ.

But none of them have Jeff Hendrick's cheekbones.

The doc on Sky Sports News analysing the match, will be interesting to see what he says about Pearce.

Liking a lot of what I see, we seem a lot better organised and always seem to have
people in the right place. Some good passing, a lot more watchable than recent games.

Anyone hear the casual racism on commentary? Something about our leprechauns taking the shamrock to Italy?

Probably.

But you're the only one looking to be offended by it. You remind me of a Willie Frazer. Going out of your way trying to outdo yourself with whataboutery.

Suspected broken leg for Montolivo... Hopefully that's wrong.

I think you've set the bar for casual racism pretty low there.

I'm at the Froch v Groves fight, I know I'm a bit of a superhero to many on here.
But even I can't be in two places at one time.

Your logic is flawed about me.

Doesn't surprise me that we are holding our own v Italy, in general we always play better against these type of international teams.

It's the Turkey's and Greece we slip up on.

If that is the kind of attitude most Irish people have about it, I'm not surprised it is still acceptable to racially abuse and mock Irish people.

Charlie Darwin

Is there any chance Long can't hit straight at the keeper?

SwanVsDalton
31/05/2014, 7:57 PM
Pretty tired of typing this during Ireland matches - Shane Long, c'mon lad! Dreadful attempt at a through ball for McGeady and then should've done better with that chance.

This is about as close to "when did you stop beating your wife?" as I've ever seen on here.

TheOneWhoKnocks

Even I can not defend Long after that. F*** sake......

Hoolahan deserved a better finish than that.

Charlie Darwin

Veratti is a class player. Will probably be the only non-Serie A player in the starting team at the WC.

Pics or it didn't happen. We could all say we are anywhere. For example, TOWK is in Offendia. Mypost is on Mars and POSH is at Craven c=Cottage with the YBIG real fans.

Get off of it. It's patronising. But hardly racist. I'm not any race but white. I'm Irish by nationality.

I've only ever seen Ealing Green attempt more maddening whataboutery.

Is there any chance Long can't hit straight at the keeper?

Will TOWK defend him?
