Stream quality isn't great but looked like a wild elbow from the defender glanced off Doyle's head but busted him open. Didn't look possible for it to cause too much damage but think it was a bit of a gusher. Might've forced the ref's hand.
The ref didn't react for a few seconds after; I don't know was it until he saw the blood or was there a bit of afters off camera. The latter'd explain it better; it certainly didn't look like a red.

But we need to use this to take control of the game more. We're comfortable in defence (unless when Forde's off flapping), and there's some nice passing out of defence (and some horrible passes too, granted), but as noted, we're not really getting anything from the mid to the front line. With a man advantage, we need to work on that.

Forde seems to really think he has made it already. He hasn't. He has had a couple of really good performances in competitive games; a few Hollywood saves. He needs to sustain it.

The only thing we should be aware of is that Forde is worth the odd head stagger in between being generally very good under a cross. If he rolls a couple of mistakes in a no-harm friendly, then all the better. Fordey's just getting ahead for the campaign. :)

Very odd phrasing. Players can make a mistake without it being complacency related. More accurate to say Forde will occasionally do this (as PO'S indicated).

Though, of course, I'd expect him to give himself a gentle boot up the hole for the second half.

id say martin will be disappointed with the sending off, the ref saw blood and sent him off.

it ruins the game in a way, cos we wanted a proper game we could try and control 11 hermanos v hermanos.

Its definitely reminiscent of the trap era, green has been trying at least, so it shows up his mistakes whelan just does nothing.

Pretty much everyone pretty poor, bar wilson pilks and doyle.

As for Forde, a competent keeper, no more. As oft repeated on here and elsewhere.
At the top level, he always will be a liability, but apparently no-one better, not his fault.

Got a few looks at that replay, it was a pretty bad swinging elbow over Doyle's head contesting an aerial ball. Wasn't off the ball. Seemed to be more the forearm that made contact than the elbow. #3.
