David Forde has gained a decorative é at the end of his name, perhaps in anticipation of his move to the continent.

Im here 2 months.... I havent even managed to learn the wifes language of Portuguese yet after a few years !!!!

Then have no sympathy for ye...actually commentary in Portuguese/Spanish is generally much more passionate...there's probably some software outware that will instantly translate it for you, albeit in the voice of an android...

I've memories of Schlooomp getting off the plane in the Faroes years ago and meeting the guy with our (me, schumi and Bald Student's) bikes for the week. He'd had a tracheostomy and had the usual croaky voice. Schlooomp, ever the diplomat, was straight over with "Hey - listen to them talk!"

I kind of want to visit Costa Rica now for the same reason; expecting they'll all talk like this commentatorrrrrrrrrrrrr. Have no idea what he's saying, but I love listening to him.

Except if they qualified, they're entitled...don't even think mypost claimed we deserved to in the end...

Good goal was not expecting that!
Was a good cross wrong Wilson and an excellent header from Doyle,
he had a similar header earlier whcih was just wide.

Commentary is a bit annoying.

All that referencing of Junior B football warms the cockles.

07/06/2014, 12:32 AM
We would probably have qualified in that confederation.

razor I know what yer getting at but these aren't italy nowhere near.

Charlie Darwin

This is almost the exact opposite of the Italy. We're not pressing them high up the pitch at all, just sitting back and apparently relying on the knowledge they're not good enough to create anything. It looks as bad as the Trapattoni era but somehow it's not. Hopefully it gets better soon.

The commentator just called us "El Republic of England" or something similar.

paul_oshea
07/06/2014, 12:34 AM
ya Charlie. but look who is in midfield for us.traps hero's.i was thinking the same tho

ArdeeBhoy
07/06/2014, 12:34 AM
We look much stronger currently, but skill-wise, remains to be seen. They do look very very ordinary.

Whelan and Green in midfield dont help with that

How can this level of footballer not find a man 10 yards in front of him

paul_oshea
07/06/2014, 12:36 AM
Kelly had the perfect cross pass for pilks there and he went backwards. dope

paul_oshea

How many passes is that now.this is awful . collectively very bad.few individuals performances ok.

We would probably have qualified in that confederation.
Worth remembering they qualified ahead of Mexico. Albeit a shambles of a Mexico who rescued things in injury time in their last game, and in a play off against New Zealand.

We're entirely comfortable here (jinx!).

SwanVsDalton
07/06/2014, 12:41 AM
I'm not an ardent Green hater, but he has been poor so far. Numerous poor touches, just allowed a Costa Rican to easily glide past him and almost put Campbell in.

Him and Whelan too deep, too far from the isolated Keane and Doyle who can't get anything to stick.

ArdeeBhoy
07/06/2014, 12:44 AM
Aye, we seem to be (rightly) treating this as a training game...though can't imagine the Poles/Scots will learn too much from this. Certainly, nothing to be scared of!

fordes kicking. ..

paul_oshea
07/06/2014, 12:48 AM
ah forde. The forde I know

tetsujin1979

Forde should have claimed that, for his size he has to control his area more

I wouldnt have Green near the squad once the qualifiers come. He can run around all day but hes incapable of any football, he cant even control the bloody ball

Central defence doing ok, but they're being worked hard because of lack of cover from central midfield
McClean on for Wilson

Not entirely sure how that sub'll work?

Doyle sent off?

Edit - nope; one of their players

tetsujin1979
07/06/2014, 12:52 AM
what was Doyle sent off for?

Charlie Darwin
07/06/2014, 12:52 AM
Did he sent off the wrong player? Looked like Doyle was after somebody else.

pineapple stu
07/06/2014, 12:53 AM
Seems an innocuous challenge. Was it for afters once the ball had gone? Don't see how that challenge could have drawn blood.

rebelmusic
07/06/2014, 12:53 AM
Did he kick him in the head or something? Was a Costa Rican that was sent off

paul_oshea
07/06/2014, 12:53 AM
Dopes

doyle came off for blood injury.he was sent off number 3 for them

SwanVsDalton
07/06/2014, 12:54 AM
Stream quality isn't great but looked like a wild elbow from the defender glanced off Doyle's head but busted him open. Didn't look possible for it to cause too much damage but think it was a bit of a gusher. Might've forced the ref's hand.
