What's the story with the Leinster Senior Cup?

Do eL teams still enter this? Or is it strictly junior/intermediate? It's in the last version of Championship Manager and I know Cork still enter the Munster Senior Cup. I can't find any info on this cup on the net.

Well it was only open to leinster clubs. Think it stopped about 6 years ago. UCD won it in 96 I remember and we won it the following year.

Was a horrendous waste of time IMO as clubs fielded reserve sides. Appalling attendances all round and the media didnt want to know.

B**z won it a million times and it kept up their idea that they were a big club :D

I'm sure you know Declan Hughes. He would have all your clubs stats etc.

It was still going more recently than that, 3 or 4 years ago at most. Was it dropped for the short transition season to summer football maybe. I know there was no league cup that year but I can't remember if that was when the Leinster Senior Cup was got rid of. No loss though, needless pointless games.
