suppose you were a footballer , cork born and bred, and rovers
are paying you a grand a week to play for them, what would you do in these circumstances? it,s the last seconds of the last game of the season, r*verz need a win to get into europe, city need a draw to stave off not alone relegation but bankruptcy. the ref notices in the area a foul after the ball goes into the shed. you are the r*verz regular penalty taker and haven,t missed in 20 attempts. you need one goal to win the golden boot for the first ever for the el and mick mccarthy is in the crowd looking for el players for japan - ok I know but it,s my story after all.remember though you still live in cork and socialise in the city at the weekend.
as you need to be alive to take the penalty, you don,t need to go into the shed to get the ball so when it is handed to you by your boss.....
