No chance of rail travel and the game clashing with the Manchester derby on TV will severely hinder any chance of a good crowd.

Ireland has a Manchester derby?!

More Irish people are interested in the Manchester derby that Pats/Slgo. You can be precious all you like about it, but there's no denying that the game will have an impact on pontential attendees

We've just discovered the engine and the wheel up here in the last few years so a few cars might make it over the Hungry Rock and as far as Dublin.

Again, I'm sure plenty will but the lack of rail travel will put a few off that may have made a day of it. Most people I know enjoy travelling by train (or more specifically drinking on trains).

Funnily enough, I don't think many of our fans travel by rail to games, ever. (Impossible to get back by train on same night, usually Fridays.) We have one or two bus companies who let you drink on the bus and there's one who strictly bans it. Most supporters (who live in Sligo) drive to away games or get the supporters' buses.

I get your point of making a day of it by train though - 2/3pm ko would have been handy.

Didn't realise the All Ireland Final was on in Manchester the same day so I have to revise my earlier statement that lucky to get 2000 and now say lucky to get 1200.

Any idea what the trophy for this will look like ... thinking of maybe getting a match day badge done up. Any Pats fans getting a badge made?

I haven't seen any pics of the trophy. There's a very active Pats fan who gets badges for a lot of things. I'll ask him

Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D Higgins, will be in attendance and will present the trophy to the winning captain.

Tickets for the match are priced at €15 for an adult, €10 for student/OAP and €5 for accompanied child U12.

I would be fairly confident in saying this, but I'd say we are possibly the only country that does not show a game like this on TV.

There's no need for the game to be on tv, it's just basically a pre season friendly, there's only going to be about 400 people at it.

With some time and the right promotion it could be become a proper Super Cup experience. But right now I don't see enough interest to justify live coverage.
