Chambers was Pats captain.

Chris Bennion was LTFC captain. Sounds like we didn't deserve to lose but feck it I guess we felt a bit sorry for Pats after breaking their hearts in Lansdowne in 2003 :p

Ref as John McLoughlin (Athlone). Captains were Chamber and Bennion (as the lads said). Chambers deservedly voted MOTM

we played our part in the final but our defendin wasnt the best. A lot of changes so not too bothered over the result. So long that we gave Pats a game!
I saw in the match programme tonight that was no LSC held for ten years from 2000/01 to 2009. Why was that? Also we played Kilkenny City in the LSC in 2000/01 in the 1st round and were knocked out and yet there was no winner of the trophy! Was there any other games played in that competition that season and how far did it continue for?

I thought the game was there for the taken (for Longford) but they kept giving the ball away, Pats deserved to win over the 90+ mins but the last 20 was all Longford, I saw a match report on here saying Lorcan Shannons cross led to the goal,
were my eyes playing tricks on me because I thought it was Rhys Gorman who's corner was cleared to the edge of the box, he then ran from the corner and crossed it high to the back post, the goalie didn't deal with it and Tom Morris (who was very solid I thought) opened his account for De Town,
maybe I need glasses!!
No that's how the goal happened. The ref actually awarded a goal kick for that corner but it was so obvious that it was a corner not a single player noticed the ref got it wrong and they just played on.
Marty, most clubs played the first round in that years LSC but the foot and mouth crisis lead to its cancellation and it wasn't brought back for the following season (and subsequent years)

nice one. So would you include it Dodge as a competitive game as I am caught between two stools as I have the match included for 2000/01 but thinking of leaving it out all together?

I'd say so. Generally games in unfinished competitions are counted, unless the results are formally expunged.
Does anyone know what the prize money for the LSC was?Just out of curiosity...

I thought it was a modest four figure sum, but I could be imagining that

No, you may well be right. I haven't seen anything one way or the other

well Sean- I expunged our results v Dub City in 06 off the records. I will leave the stats from LSC 01 as it is for now as it wasnt our fault competition wasnt finished.

So, there you have it, Longford Town are at fault for the loss of Dublin City from the league.

For what it's worth this is how I do it
The LSC in 2000-01 counts
Games v Dublin City in 06 and Monaghan in 2012 don't

I thought the provincial FAs were amateur organisations:confused:
If they are, then the prize money will be €0.
Who sponsors the Leinster Senior Cup? Does the sponsor gift a prize to the winning team (equipment, holiday, or whatever)?

Think Pats might have got a cup of tea for winning it.
