View Full Version : Are we now that bad.... 2-2 V mons
reading the report from inthenet.ie (http://www.inthenet.ie/eircom/report.asp?report=165) and listening to the reports on the radio..i can tell you from 3000 miles away is a ****ing bitch, but it'd be nothing compared to actually watching a sucsession of ****e performances from city against weaker clubs ie UCD and Mons.
Can anyone tell me whats gone wrong?

We actually dont deserve to win the title if we cant beat Mons. Lads they are the worst team in the league and they score two against us .... 'Tis kinda sad really to say the least.

we were appalling. we don't deserve to be in the premier division after a performance like that. monaghan were the better team and deserved the 3 points. who are you going to blame now liam? MURPHY OUT

i,d say ur overreacting to one result. championships are won over seasons not on one game. say if we beat shels, rovers and derry
eve‚’y time we played them, wouldn,t you accept away draws
to galway, monaghan and even dundalk. i would. also every club
has a bad spell, let,s hope this is ours.
Well if your content with second rate drivel and crap performances, off with ya.
If you are happy with second best, Well keep it to yourself then.
Galway beat Monaghan 8-0.
What does that say about the result?
Bloody embarrassing as is the fact that
Cobh are the only Cork team left in the cup...

it.s not about one game, niamh! i bet galway would gladly swap positions with us. the top two have been beaten by city this
season, that doesn,t automatically make us champs, does it?
monaghan will take more points off other teams as the season progresses. i often prefer to be playing teams mid-table or those
around us as you know what to expect. teams struggling against
relegation or those doomed like monaghan will always want to
go out with a fight. and no-one has answered my question as
to whether they,d accept draws v monaghan in exchange for wins
v rovers and shels?

I just thought I'd dig this one out after Shel's 1-0 defeat at Monaghan. I reckon
a) James should be told what's going wrong ( with Shels).
b) A face musn't think Shel's deserve to win the title. Come to think of it it must be great to be a Monaghan supporter as their team gets to decide who is fit to win the league. ;)
c) GWA must think Shels are third rate drivel.
d) Eanna thinks Shels should be in first division.
e) Niamh thinks Galway would beat Shels 9-0 as they beat Monaghan 8-0 after all.
whatever about the result, it was our performance that day which prompted me say what i said. we were brutal and i stand by it.

Lads ... i hate answering this one but of course i would love City to win the title, but ..... hang on and hear me out, I would prefer that City were to dispatch Monghans with no worries while resting four or five first team players, take the points and make up the goal difference, and then beat Rovers 3:1 .... This would be ideal, This should be the way it happens but it is not, every game we are on the edge of our seats wishing City to score, against Bohs ... fair enough, or even Bray, but Monaghan should not score against us and we score/win with ease. "But they beat Shels the other night" ... now lads i wasn't there but i will put money on it that it was against the run of play, Shels were all over them or it was a Longford town, first game of the season, 4:1 thing going on and all though they lost, they were probably better than them by far but about ten errors in the game made you believe things were very different. If City are neck and neck to win the league ... they should seriously be looking for the points and destroying the Galways and Monghans. I really think that any team .. Limerick or Sligo, anyone you want to name could run away the league if they were consistant enough, Zero tolerance and get the job done.
P.S ... i know i am generalising a bit here, but you get the gist of what i am saying.

According to the Irish Times , it was a 'deserved win' for Monaghan. Surely though you're not saying arseShels are moral winners for losing 1-0 while we're crap for drawing 2-2. Ok we
might have played crap in the 2-2 game but that one game doesn't mean we shouldn't be in the EL Premier as laughingly
suggested above, or champions if we can overtake Pats, rovers and arseshels. By the way we have now beaten all the top teams
which seems to me unusual for city. It also seems to me that saying arseShels 'hit the post 2 or 3 times' is just clutching at straws. LOL! :p
i was just pointing it out! anyhoo, regardless of shels, we were terrible v mons, a team we should have beaten.
did you realise that if yoo rearrange the word anyhoo you get no yahoo...strange  :p
i like cats..but i'd rather be a submarine driver
there must be something in the boston air.......
something that makes the brain say weird things.......

It aslo seems to result in the imagining of extra 'o's. This is handy, especially for referring to our compatriot with the Caledonian flavour :D
