If results go their way tonight, Bray Wanderers could return to the top of the eircom First Division, although the Seagulls meet an Athlone Town team in form at the Carlisle Grounds. Kick off at 7.45pm.

Athlone are unbeaten in their last three matches having won two and drawn against bottom side Limerick last week to leave them in eighth position in the table.

Already Athlone manager Stephen Kelly is planning for next season and a more serious assault on the First Division title. The signing of Paddy Mulvihill from Longford Town seems to have been a masterstroke as the former Republic of Ireland Under 19 international has scored twice since joining the club last month.

Kelly is once again without striker Padraig Moran and is likely to miss the remainder of the season following a knee operation last week, while Alan Kelly is out through suspension.

With UCD not playing tonight and Finn Harps facing a tricky home tie against Galway United, the Seagulls could return to the top of the table with six matches remaining.

Bray manager Pat Devlin is without long-term injury victim Colm James, Kevin Grogan, Robbie McGuinness and Graham O’Hanlon while Colm Tresson faces a late fitness test ahead of the game to see if he makes it.

A win for the home side would leave the pressure on fourth placed Kildare County who are four points behind Wanderers as the promotion race hots up.
