I am reading a book at the moment about Finn Harps. It was written by the gent who turned the club into a senior football team. It was a good read and gave an insight into the GOOD AND THE BAD of Irish club soccer.

He also did not speak too highly of the Harps supporters and said that the players felt it was a penance to play in front of the them.

How do Harps supporters feel about that comment???

He was Harps manager when we won the cup in 1974, and on many ocassions since then. He also write a weekelt article in the Donegal Democrate. He speaks badly of Harps cause they don't invlove him. In Harps terms he is one of the legends of the club but he also a idiot IMO. A prime example of this was the 2003 Finn Harps AGM, They were electing the Board of Directors and his name had been put forward, he made a big fuss about it and said no ne had asked him. But when Willy Mc Nulty(Harps Chairman at the time) pointed out he had signed the form allowing himself to be put forward he sudenly remembered being asked. He also tried to put forward a motion the Harps should never move from Finn Park and just simply ignore the UEFA guidelines

Harps Fans are the best supporters in Ireland.

When you go to away games there especially from the far end of the country , they seem to be glad you made the effort.

Christ you said it. This week its Killybegs Fishermen.

As somebody (a neighbour of) the rigger describes him. Patsy the philanderer. Gods gift to women. Aye a legend in his own mind.

As for the book you should meet a certain individual by the name of Davy from Strabane and now residing in Belfast. I'm near certain he's on his 5th reading and he swears by it.

Dont believe everything you read. Some of that book however is true.

That is true.Think we generally make an effort to acknowledge the away support.Obviously the farther away the better the supporters. We're not quite so welcoming of Derry City fan's but sure thats there own doing. :D
