An Irish team 7-0 up after 60mins. Never thought I'd see the day.

and one for Pats' Kevin O'Connor apparently (although a bit of confusion about the last goal apparently)

Some match stats! 30 shots to 1 - of which 18 to 1 were on target - and 13 corners to nil.

Good to see some old-fashioned names in the squad too - Grealish, Byrne, O'Neill, Morris, Coyne. Just like CM. :)

Grealish is supposed to be something special, already been involved with the reserves at Villa, despite being 16

One nil down to Kazakhstan after 50mins. Terrible result if it stays like this. Czech Republic won 6-0 earlier against Liechtenstein.

Grealish what a legend! Really looking forward to seeing game later. Sounds like they deserved it. Grealish is a quality player

Nice one. Should go through now unless Kazakhstan beat Liechtenstein by 9 goals. Should be looking for at least a draw against the Czechs though.

Look in trouble now unfortunately. 10 mins to go if the kazs get 2 more goals r we toast?

Ireland 0-1 Czech Rep
Liechs 0-8 Kazakhs

Few minutes left. We have a goal difference of +7 at the moment and the Kazakhs have a goal difference of +6. Another goal either way could knock us out or put it to the drawing of lots.

Dog lucky in end. WE deserved it Id say from what I saw of the last game. Could be class side come the elite phase

Ireland through in the turkey shoot out.

Iceland had already won their group, ahead of Switzerland and Greece.
Yet another remarkable success notched up, to mark the accomplishment of what can be achieved by a progressive revamp which encourages kid to play technical football with confidence.
Ireland need to give up the fags and change their ways.

Close call in the end but hopefully a lesson learned about finishing off weaker opposition (ie the Kazakhstan match).

The same Iceland that lost 5-1 to Switzerland? They're a shining light for all of football

Always focussing on perceived negatives, Dodge :)
Always associating a step backward as a failure. How will you ever learn?
That negative waste of energy is holding you back.

Yes, it is a fact that Iceland lost heavily to the Swiss who are a top youth side, but did that effect their confidence? did they start lumping the ball in their next game?
In the final game, they played their football on the ground and outplayed the rated Israelis.

Dodge

Dodge, you are beyond recovery.
Indeed, it was the same Israelis who settled into their groove and beat the 2nd best youth side in Europe, the Swiss.

Qualifying by a single goal, after one of the other underage sides missed out by a single goal earlier in the year. Swings and roundabouts

Just the whole "Iceland good, Ireland bad, me right, everyone else wrong" stuff gets quite tiresome after a while, especially when whole lorries are driven through the gaps in your argument.

When's the draw for the next round so?

I've no idea what you're on about with your "contradiction"

Lads maybe ye could stop the bitch festing and discuss the under 17s or does having 1000s of posts make ye immune from normal rules? I think this is a group of players who are technically excellent but lacking physically size wise. Grealish, Byrne mcglade and hayes look weak as. Great to see us(thanks Kazahstan TV!) playing passing football through midfield and having skillful attacking players. Looking forward to the rest of the season maybe we willget the elite group at home

The UEFA draws continue today and our U17 squad are the latest team to be drawn. They have been drawn in the 2011/2012 Elite phase qualifiers where they will face Holland, Serbia and Albania. Crowleys played for England U17's in August. There's also a Dan Crowley at Arsenal in the England setup.

Read on an Arsenal forum that the fee was about a million quid, so for a player of that age, he must be pretty okay.
