What was the fourth official thinking? To be fair to the ref, he must have acted on his advice.

Games seemed a lot better to watch with commentary (inchicore, showgrounds) as opposed to someone telling you what happened before they would actually show it

I agree, commentary sounds much better than the voice-overs they do.

MNS seem to confuse themselves as to whether they're trying to keep us in suspense at the result of a game (lines like "we'll find out if Dundalk could keep up their title challenge") and then randomly just giving away the result seconds into the highlights package ("Shelbourne were soundly beaten on Friday night").

It seems like they want to do it Match of the Day style, not giving out the scores, but because it's shown 3 days after most of the games take place they can't bring themselves to assume no one knows the results!

Well, that and Match of the Day comms are actually covering the game live, and have their packages edited together afterwards. Broadcasters (particularly mediocre broadcasters) aren't voice actors and their retrospective commentaries inevitably sound fake.
