Ok as probably one of the only users of what is really known as IRC on the forum I'll have to explain this badboy.

IRC is known as Internet Relay Chat, its primary use is actually for gamers to swap info and arrange pcws and wars in whatever is their chosen game, generally Half Life mods and mods of EA's Battlefield. This is accessed through Quakenet.

Quakenet is one of the many servers from which you can chose. The servers tend to be based on gaming, extremely tedious internet talk on HTML, XHTML, JAVA and so on.

In short your best bet is to use the IRC search engine which us gamers despise! http://searchirc.com/

That should help a bit!

primary use is for gaming? I think you've got the wrong internet mate ;)

theres a million channels on a million servers and about 90% of them are porn or file sharing. ;)

the one is use most is #mediaplace on Efnet, its where i get games and applications for my fone.

The file sharing ones are pants, the upload/download rate is a joke as its all spotty 12 year olds looking for porn with their 56ks of course there are some losers looking for wives from Thailand and that but Quakenet is the primary server 'cos the flow through its channels is insane!

Check us out @ #clan.caenage

I dunno lads, i didn't come across any of those servers, infact most of the servers that i went into had very few people in them. I spoke to a few lads in Oz about the compromised rules and stuff and spoke to a few people in Italy with my dodgy written Italian .... after that, i didnt find much of anything.
