Lads anyone know what their clubs budgets are this season,I tipped Athlone at the start simple because of Roddy but I thought it would be a bit closer ata this stage.Theres not a whole lot between all the teams Ive seen coming to Cobh but I expected Harps and Longford to push right to the end...how do budgets compare with Athlones and is there managers in trouble??

Our budget would be along the same lines as Athlone's I'd say, no less anyway. Yes, I'd imagine Cousins is in trouble. From what I've heard he was in trouble a few weeks ago. Whether they'll stick with him for the season remains to be seen but they probably will.

Harps entire weekly budget for the running the club is next to nothing. Most of the players are on amateur contracts as far as I'm aware. Budget is something around 2,000 a week.

It's a lot less than the top three anyway.

Huttons position is grand around the board too. Came under a bit of fire mid season, but the reality is we can't afford to be up there challenging. A disappointing season again, but while we're tight with the wage budget we're not exactly going places.

For me Mervue have a strong squad (on paper anyway) and I expected them to be doing better. I don't know if they pay their players just expenses only or do they get a wage/bonus. I tipped Athlone at start of the season due to them having the best manager in the division and having seen Cousins at Galway years ago I would not have much confidence in him.
Is the Star last week Roddy stated that 40% of players in the Airtricity League are on amateur contracts; so that would equate to over 80% in the first division.

Mervue have a super squad people dont actually realise that. They will finish 3rd as long as we stick with TC

Surprised Harps budget is that low,Hutton not doing that bad a job it would seem-beat Drogs and anything possible! In that case the league table somewhat represents clubs and their budets.I would question Salthill in the league at this stage, zero fanbase and no sign of the club growing....hard to imagine why any manager would stay?

Having a manager is overrated.
