Nobody likes to see a club in such bad shape, all this talk about the eircom league upping its standard is only that... talk. Something has to be done or clubs like Monaghan, Limerick and the like, will cease to exist

Just might be goin a tad bit over the top about that fella Leon.

Wouldn't "kick snow off a rope" as the old sayin goes. We've supposedly been payin him 200 quid a week and all he's played is one bloody game. Mercenaries like him don't belong in the EL.

He's injured for the rest of the season, has been for a few weeks now

I was informed from a reliable source lately that Keith Foy purposely kicked a ball away in a recent first division match in order to get booked so he wouldn't have to make the journey to Cobh!! Ramblers subsequently won the match 8-0! What does this say about Monaghan Utd, Mick Cooke and the First Division??

That's unacceptable if it's true. Says a lot more about Keith Foy than it does about the club or manager though.

It's as true as I write on this forum. It's obviously acceptable at Monaghan when he got away with it!! I think it's a disgrace.

Limerick FC cannot and have not been able to attract decent players from their own junior Leagues historically because they cannot be arsed to travel in the First Division.
By no means a problem confined to Monaghan United.

That is one thing about Monaghan ... they have their house in order and no-one can take that from them. They would put some clubs to shame when all the cards are on the table.

They find it very easy to slate a club, but harder to defend their own.

4 pitches, 4 astro turf pitches, one of the Best CLub houses in the league, 600 seat stand, New Repairs to ground. No Debt and a 13 acre site all owned by ourselves, no harm but not many clubs in the league have that.

We dont waste money on wages and jeopardise the club because the members own it and we aint rich. Our only problem is a crowd (lack of) and we arent the only ones with that problem.

Monaghan United is a well supported club. No don't laugh not at the turnstiles but in terms of fund raising etc. The club house is full for fund raising ventures throughout the year. And tickets for draws go like hotcakes and to be fair a lot of GAA fans support these events. The club has it's act together off the field and will in time get it together on the field.
There's only one MUFC that matters and they aren't in scumchester :D
