a number of drog fans are on about dessie giving the 2 fingers salute to them at the end of the game on tuesday, did anyone see this and if so what are your thoughts on it.
remember, that some of our supporters got annoyed about a similar incident involving shane robinson of rovers a few months ago.

Didn't see it myself but im told he did make abusive gestures to them. He was out of order just like Robinson was.

or if dufc make an offical complaint about him, a fan can also make a written complaint about a player within 4 workings days of the incident in question.

They have, well certainly a fan has. Tw@ts, complaining about something like this is a perfect example of what is wrong with football today....
I'm shocked dessie would do such a thing, the drogheda fans are so nice and welcoming!!

yeah i just seen that on their site.
when robinson gave us the gesture we could have wrote and complained etc, but we just gave him abuse back in the next match( for which certain peole gave out about ) , keep it within the relms of the game and give as good as ya get......
btw that fool who roared abuse at our platers in vaduz was at it again on tuesday night, just spend the whole time running down the team and started cheering when we got the second goal........i hate that $hit, we abuse other players and there is a piece in the programme, yet these fools and can roar anything they want abour our players and nothing is done about it, double standards.

Macy, whats wrong with the game today is footballers like Dessie Baker thinking they can do what they like without any repercussions. Why couldn't he have been like Digger or Barrett? They got nearly as good a reception from us as they did from your fans after the game when they came over and applauded us!!
The ref did run over to him straight away and ordered him away, whether he includes it in his report or not is doubtful.
Seriously doubtful that it will be in his report. I think Kelly is more interested in how his hair looks than what goes on in the game. If he is meant to be one of the top refs in the country then it shows how poor the standard is. He was equally bad for both teams with his decisions and it should not go unnoticed.
Well as I said on your board, with a haircut like his I can't believe he didn't get some abuse - I mean even we take the píss out of it. If even some of your number did, then IMO you've got no case. You can't dish it out and expect everyone to take it as well as Digger.
Opposition fans try to wind up opposition players all the time, then when they react we get the same fans reporting them. It's a joke.

digger is known for that at nearly every club, he is a true gentleman and it will be a very sad day when he hangs up his gloves.
dessie should expect some abuse as macy said with hair like that, just as spud did with the drogheda connection, the difference was the reaction. ya knwo the saying, if your gonna do it don't get caught.

Macy, if you genuinely believe that Dessie Bakers actions in the minutes following the final whistle the other night are in any way excusable, then you don't have to look very far to see what is really wrong with football in this country.
Lads, theres no way we can complain drogheda making a complaint about dessie. What dessie did was out of order and if he gets in major trouble for it,I'll show him no symphaty.True what macy said about fans dishing it out and not be able to take it but players are abused all the time,it shouldnt happen but its something they have to deal with. Can you imagine if Foley turned around to us after the game and gave us the fingers. When Robinson did the same to us,we did complain. There was a complaint to Shamrock Rovers but it was just ignored

I wish people would get over this Baker thing.Big deal he gave some fans the finger. He shouldn't have done it but he did so now it's in the past it should be left there. If the ref mentions it he mentions it if not so what.I think it is very childish and immature to go to a game and call half the players on the pitch p ricks & w ankers & so on but as soon as a player reacts people hit the roof. The best thing to do is give the player more abuse don't go crying about it your not 4 years old.If this is the only bad thing to happen to you in your life then count yourself lucky so will everyone please give it a rest and get over it.

i understand your point - but it assumes that ecerybody in the crowd is giving half the players abuse. what got so many annoyed is that, his first reaction to winning was not to celebrate with his own fans but to taunt the losing fans. and when its been 21 years since yer last semi final, and you have some excuse for a human being taunting you seconds after a very painful defeat, it is not so easy to forget , or to get over

Fair enough ColinR he shouldn't have done it but if you are being wound up for 120mins by the opposing fans and you come out on top it's a natural enough way to respond.Shane Robinson did it to us in Inchicore and i laughed it off but other people flipped and made a big deal out of nothing. My advise to yourself & the rest of the Drog fans is give him hell when you come back to Flancare later on this season.
I also have to say that the most enjoyable moment i had this season after a match occured in Utd Pk. when that guy thumped the linesman. It was absolutely priceless and it's a shame more of them along with some refs don't get thumped now and again.
Best of luck for the rest of the season Drogs
look dessie is one of the best players we have seen in a long time so does it really matter what his hair looks like when he can play well. his hair is different and wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same. go dessie go..... :)

You're not wrong there
digger is loved by the shed in the cross and he seems to have the same affection for the shed
great stuff when he does the hokey-pokey :D

Digger is such a gentleman & pro it's undescribible. I really think the main stand should be called the Stephen O' Brien stand and that he should get some sort of testimonial from the club because he has been such a good servant and ambassador for the club that he more than anyone else deserves it and i for one will be very sorry to see him leave but at least he has achieved some of his goals by winning silverware with the Town.Digger, i salute you and i'm certain i'm not alone when i say that.
