Has anyone got ay idea if there will be any problems for any of the green army getting into french sections? I'm in the North End myself. Would it be wise to cover up the colours until we get to our seats? Maybe Ptegan might know if any problems are likely to occur.

just so as ye know, when we were over in nantes for intertoto game the security were very very strict. so I'd say covering up would be a good idea

Definitely safer to cover up. Unlikely to be a problem however the french have broken FIFA regulations here by selling so many tickets in the home end to away fans (despite their wonderful football a few years back there really aren't 15,000 French fans called Paddy and Lick in Ireland :D ) and may decide to check at the last minute.

Best jsut to hide your colours until you are inside.

I very much doubt if there will be any problems in the french end with away fans.

I think we'll have over 40,000 fans there. I actually find it hard to believe that the French have bought 40,000 tickets.

The French FA seem to have given the FAI tickets in both ends of the stadium (going by the sections that me and my mates got tickets for), I'd imagine we'll be safe enough anyway...

Yeah I reckon that we don't have much to worry about. Imagine them stopping thousands of Irish supporters from getting in on the night of the match?

But in saying that, wearing a jumper wouldn't do you any harm (as long as it's not green!) :)

Ah yeah id say we'd be grand. There are two many of us for them to be stopping. By the looks of the weather forecast it looks like well be covering up anyway

The Irish have a good record overseas- when I was at Nantes-Cork City I was wearing my Nantes top and getting into the Cork stand without a prob. So they should be strict but fair.

Back today and no probs going in. Where I was if they didn't let in the Paddies they would have had a half full stadium and a riot probably aswell. Policing was far lower in Paris than in Troyes. There the CRS almost outnumbered the Irish fans and kept us after the game even though there was no hassle from the locals. I think that the security could have been handled far better with stewards. I must admit I thought: 'Uh oh! If these moody b*stards are in charge tomorrow then we could eb in trouble.'
