newmarket v shannon town looks the pick of the opening games .. if newmarket put out full team the holders could be in trouble

Wesley Webb is never a priority for Newmarket so can see a win for town there, bridge should be too strong for hibs b but ya never know, hibs a and town b could be interesting, and id expect Olympic A to account for the winner of the prelim..always a good entertaining tournament

Ya Newmarket usually don't take it serious but with a new manager is say this year will be different .from what I hear new manager is bringing in 1/2 lads from both rock rovers and Connolly Celtic. Again this is all hear say . But apparently Daniels and hickey from rock and Quinn (keeper) and another midfielder ( can't think of his name) coming from Connolly .
Any Newmarket lads confirm if these lads are training yet

Sean Kennedy from rock is training with them also, he was Clare youths keeper last season.

Very unfair on clubs to be posting hearsay. None of your post is correct. Newmarket have 3 managers in place for the coming season and pre-season training is coming along nicely. If you need any more information feel free to come out and watch any Tuesday or Thursday.

As for the Wesley Webb the club are very happy to be invited to play in it but most years the timing is bad with a lot of lads away. The club will be represented to compete and treat the tournament with the respect it deserves.

So your saying the manager hasn't brought anyone in from rock or Connolly. Only asking ?? Also who are the 3 managers this year.and do you think they can win back the premier ?

I have already said that your post is incorrect. The target is to win the league every year, can they, yes, will they, who knows.

Everything is speculation until people actually sign the forms, Sean Kennedy did train with Newmarket and that is a fact.. This forum at this particular time of the year is full of rumours and gossip, people enjoy talkin about players moving to other clubs, there's nothing else to talk about on here!!

Your right fifty50 but your man made a comment my post was incorrect . I said manager was bringing in lads from rock and Connolly . Which all mighty one said was incorrect !!!! But as you said that lad from rock has trained already so unless first is on the management panel he's obviously incorrect

Lads who cares who's signing where at the end of the day it's 11 v 11 and any team can beat any team on any given day. I'd like to wish Newmarket best of luck this year I'm sure they will be there fighting for the league title again .

What? 3 managers? Never heard of that before. Who has the final say? Sound like a load of rubbish to be honest first

They shoul do what limk league do and play league cup there midweek . Play it as a knock out competition . So teams can go straight into league games and not be playing 2 a week in April next year

Heard today its going to be darryl and rowan eade over ennis town, darryl as a player/coach and rowan as the manager. 2 good guys with lots of football knowledge between them, could work well if they get the full squad playing for them all year and not once every 3 or 4 games.

They will keep players there with those in charge as well. Tough to play n coach tho.

Was only a matter of time before it happened after joining up with cratloe. in thefirst place that was recipe for disaster. cratloe were always a joke of a club with zero to offer... one can only get the feeling that over the next year or two that there'll be a few more clubs folding as well

If you don't have a schoolboy and youth set-up you will eventually go. Must be another reason our own club hasn't entered either.

Few of the clubs registered late. Supp waiting to see what kind of squads they have. Supp decision on league start will be made tonight. Not much movement on players I hear.

It might take 15 yrs First but it will happen - - !!!
Bunratty was a mercenary club anyway - no loyalty , only the pre madonna's who taught they were bigger than their native club headed there but eventually saw sense and came back with their tails between their legs , did anyone from Bunratty actually play for them , very few i'd say !

I see colum treacy is back up with avenue he played last night against kilkishen. Anyone any insight into the man's thinking? Very strange move for him after doing preseason with Newmarket. I cant really see where he'll fit in when avenue are full strength but then again he would have struggled to get games at nof aswel. Maybe rineanna rvs would have been the right move, after all it is one club he hasn't signed for yet.

Thought Avenue disrespected the Hugh Kelly Memorial Tournament massively last night by sending down their B team to play the final. Bad form.

Did they disrespect the family by playing most of those b team players against kilkishen aswell on monday? Its a club tournament and doesnt state that it was avenue A or B that were down to play the game.

surely a Big club like Avenue would put out their best team in A Memorial tournament for their former manager ?

bad form from then especially when they then send their A Team to play Shannon Olympic in a friendly today

25/08/2013, 9:26 PM
And how many players did avenue turn up with today? We were struggling for numbers friday, the b team had more players available on the night and went and played. Whats the problem here, i seemed to remember last years final between the same 2 sides and newmarket playing the game with mostly b team players, was there a lack of respect to the kelly family here. Get real lads

Completely agree with you NewLad.... Anyone care to make predictions for the coming season

Premier winner: Newmarket - seem to have sigend some quality players, might be too good for avenue?
First Division: Shannon Olympic - Good squad if they keep their players for the season good signings...
Second Division: Avenue B - Could be mixed with a few youths - should be too good for the division
Third Division: Rineanna - Good squat together and should win the division I reckon

Premier: Newmarket or Avenue and maybe Bridge Utd as a dark horse.
1st div :Should be between Olympic , Bridge Celtic and Moher.
2nd div : Inch to win Manus and Ruan for promotion.
3rd div: Between Kilrush , West Clare and Bridge B.

Yes good win for Tula, bridge deserved something from it, they were crap in the first half, all the Tula goals were against the run of play,
Went up to see bridge v lifford B Friday night, teams on the pitch waiting for ref, game postponed as he did not show, this is a disgrace, what will happen now to this ref that didn't show,ie will he be fined or told to play for half money next time?
Will the clare league compensate both teams for there time? Lets face it if a club gives a walk over the clare league get there fines from them and also the ref gets paid for just showing up.. Should he not be fined for not showing up,
Love to know the leagues stance on this..

Come on The Banner.

What about the players who are up in the aviva watching the world cup qualifier, no defending the leagues decision this time round, would the gaa call off hurling match cause ireland are playing?? dont think so.

totally agree league should be concentrating on soccer and don't worry about any other rival sports and especially the gaa who have teams who wont even entertain their players playing soccer while still involved in championship games
