Well its nearly that time of the year again. Time to get rid of the deadwood in the squad and sign quality!!

In - Kevin Hunt, Karim El Kybir, Jason Byrne, Bobby Ryan, Simon Webb & Dan Connor
Out - Darragh Sheridan, Paul Keegan, Mick Dempsey
Player of the season so far - Sean Dillon
Comments on other players
Digger - Has been excellent all season and would push Sean Dillon close
Spud - Has had a resonable season with a rocky patch in the middle but not 2 many complaints.
Pruns - Not the season he had last season but still has been very solid & consistant.
Dillo - Outstanding,he has improved so much since his spell with the Irish team and has matured as a player. One of the Top defenders in the league.
Barry - A more mature season as he seems to have cut out a lot of the nonsence that dogged him last season.
Brian Mc Govern - only has himself to blame
Paiso - Tonnes of potential but hasn't really had a chance to show it
Garto - A revelation this season and like Dillo he's very versatile
Pip - Disapointing start to the season and dosen't seem to have got his confidence back.
Vinny - this season seems to be very up & down for him.Needs to work on his fitness alot as he has lost his edge.
Fitzy - Has done a job but next season he should really shine.
Barrett - Injuries from last season seem to have robbed him of his pace and is also out of position on the left but still a great asset.
Kirbs - Tonnes of ability but seems to switch on & off and drifts in field to much.On his day he is without any doubt one of the best in the game i just wish he knew that.
John Martin - Has done a job when asked but we have yet to see the best of him.
Lavine - Seems to have got through his personal problems to perform well and has done huge work in holding the ball up.Bakers best partner but needs to score goals.Maybe he just needs a bit of luck.
Baker - As with Kirbs he has ability galore and has scored some cracking goals.Seems to lose interest quite easy but very passionate when involved and the final looks set to be his stage.
Paul Keegan - He's just not up to it.
Agree with most of the above. Keegan not up to it?? I wouldn't say that yet. He has been unlucky with us. He played a vital role in us beating drogs the other night and still could have a huge say on whether the cup come back to us or not. Don't under estimate him
Have to agree with techs on keegan. Was fantastic on tuesday night

didnt think keegan was fantastic at all against drogs. He gave away rediculously easy offsides. When midfield got sick of it and held up the ball for him, the flow of play was lost. He seemed to have a habit of running into rather than around difficulty in a bullish acceptance that nothing was going to come of it anyway. A bit cynical.

Have to agree with that assessment. He was caught off side far to much, just for being too dopey to look along the line. Mind you, judging by the abuse foley was getting I think many Town fans don't understand the offside rule and immediately assume he's bias. I'd rather have kept Seanie and lost Keegan.

Kevin Hunt & Jason Byrne? We fookin wish....
El Kybir - shíte, wouldn't want the over paid waster near the club.
Bobby Ryan - can't cross a road. Ineffective fancy dan.
Simon Webb - Worse hair than Dessie
Dan Connor - It would be great to have a reserve keeper of that quality.
Out: Paul Keegan, Brian Byrne, Dempsey, perhaps Pip.
In: Barry Ryan, Keith O'Halloran, Keith Fahy.
Being realistic here.
These swaps maybe a little ordinary but if we're to get a new midfielder, I think we should be looking away from this league, obviously we'd be looking at another Deano situation. We'd all love a fantasy league here but have to calm down at least until we know the result of the cup.

there was a guy in the stand jumping over and back from giving abuse to foley, back to the (Longford) players and back again to foley, etc. He was having cardiac arrests everytime play came anywhere near the sideline. And when he did decide to 'encourage' Baker or Keegan it was "you have it, you have it, you have it ... you B@LLOCKS!!!"

Nothing wrong with Mick Dempsey imo, a decent number two goalie, especially as Digger has another year on his contract and will be first choice. Definitely leaving I would think would be Brian Byrne and probably Darragh Sheridan, both have pretty serious injuries and are coming to the end of their contracts afaik, Wouldn't really like to see Pip leave but he's another one whose contract is up and don't know if he'll hang around if he's not first choice. Wouldn't want Fahy around, ability wise great but attitude is trouble according to Pats officials, one said last season he was "Pats' Lee Bowyer", remember his tackle on Prunty in the Cup Final too..O'Halloran might be a good shout depending on wages
