Below is a mail that seems to be going around about sats meet up ! News is spreading fast !
" latest update from the FAI.........sightseeing and drinking..nice!!
So, you're in Paris. The game isn't on for another 12 hours and you're bored
of spending 5€ a pint ? Well just pop along to the unofficial supporters
meet-up by the Eiffel Tower at 2pm local time, Sat 9th. The last time I
counted there were more than 4000 people, several thousand cans of beer and
a football. We just need a few flags, a CD of The Sultans of Ping and we're
be set !
So...just get the RER C to the Tower, the Metro line 6 or just walk. There
should be a good crowd there and pretty easy to spot. The meet is on the
grassy part in front of the tower. Groups of lads hanging around the base of
one of the towers will look suspicious. It's a shame but a sign of the times
we live in I'm afraid.
And remember, drinking outdoors in Paris is not against the law but being
drunk is. If the police think that the situation is getting out of hand
(hundreds of drunk Irish fans playing football) then the riot police will no
doubt on their way to take away those fun-loving Irish fans. Just hope that
there's a TV in the cell :)
So remember, the police are pretty friendly but don't think that just 'cos
you're Irish that you'll get treated any different than any other football
thug. So let's keep it nice and clean :) "
