As per last years successfull allocation I'm asking the club to make a section of the designated stand reserved for the vocal section of Lansdowne Road.

Any other suggestions?

Last year there was an allocation of about 100 tickets for the singing section.Which was great but did not look overly impressive. This year would we be able to take over a whole section, like shels in the depor game. How much does each section hold,I dont think there would be any problem filling it

great noise made on tuesday evening but more than that would be needed to make the chants heard in the stadium the size of landsdown.

i think at least 100 would be needed or more

Id say sheets with songwords on it(sounds a bit cheesy,I know) but obviously this would cost money but anything to stop it from being 90mins of THE LONGFORD whum pum pum

I agree 100% but given the amount of people that never go that will be there, and to be fair are needed, will printed lyrics do any good, there'll be 100 or so will get in the spirit but after that I don't know..worth a try at least I suppose..You never know unless you try.

How many tickets will we be able to get for the singing section.I've talked to alot of people who arent the most hardcore of town fans but said that they'd be interested.I think we should go all out and get a whole section. There has to be 300 or so people who would rather stand and sing for the 90 mins then sit in silence with all the bandwagon supporters

Bandwagon supporters?? At longford how could you say such a thing and where DID you get that mad idea from??

Xlex

we should get song lyrics printed on alternative Red and Black card and fill our section with them. Sponsers could be included to defray costs, eg. the 51 and perhaps PV's the two pubs which will be frequented on the day and night?

Maz
10/10/2004, 3:23 PM
I think thats a good idea, I'd help out with distribution or in whatever way i can! Last year in Lansdowne it was a great atmosphere where we were all situated up da back and had a perfect view also

if i'm given the cards i can print them in work for free, i think red A4 paper would do the trick. i can contact the fai to see will be we allowed in to put the sheets on the seats, i'm in dublin that morning so i can do it then.

Xlex

Right, get on to the FAI and see if we can do that. If there's no big outlay we'll try convince the supporters club to sponcer it. A sea of red and black.

We will be chatting about it tonight after the game. I'll speak to the club tonight regarding the ticket allocation.

max power

i'll see what the fai have to say. are we going for red card with writing and black cards with writing.......or just red cards with writing.

if we can organise it in time we can announce it at the game next monday/tuesday and get shannonside onto the case as well.

Maz

what about giving them with tickets bought? when people go to get their tickets they could get a song sheet or something along that line! even a small charge to bring in funds etc!

max power
11/10/2004, 10:19 AM
they would bring the ticket and forget the sheet, do big to carry, couldn't be bothered........ya know the excuses. i think our best bet is the day of the final. it will only take an hour or so and if it increases the noise it will be well worth it...

just a point, i think the chants with bad language should be left out as ya know the PC bargade are out there waiting to complain about any little thing

fai aren't bothering to answer their phones. i'll see if i can work something out at the match tonight.

It is a great idea that we all get a section together again because it worked realy well last year. The idea of the red cards also sounds great, what about aswell as holding the cards up as the team comes out we hold up all the big flags and cover the section with colour. i think that we should all get into the ground at least an hour before the game to start the noise as the teams warm up like we do in the flansiro.

ok talked to jim last night after the game for a min and the song sheets idea is a great one he thinks and the i'll try the fai today to sort something.

had a chat with marty too and he said yee might have a meeting in jj's on sat night to get all ideas on the tabel....

how many tickets are we going to try and get for the section, i think these can be kept to one side in the shop in town and every one can go in and get them as they see fit.

btw the shop is open tomorrow where roger wards was on ballymahon st.

as macy said if you wanna get a head start on the chants check out flansiro.net.

i hope to have something up on one f next week, still waiting for my broadband to be re connected in my new gaff  fcukin eircom

It says in the news today under ticket arrangements that there will be tickets available for the east lower, west lower and south terrace.Does this mean that each set of fans aren't going ta get there own stand, like last year and that we're all going to be mixed together.

max power
12/10/2004, 1:16 PM
no from what i've been told, it will be half and half in each area. not a great idea but at least both sets of fans are seen on tv and i think that is one of the reasons.

Finny
12/10/2004, 7:01 PM

Bosco

ok here is the latest, tickets go on sale today and we WILL be given a singing section. we don't know where it is yet. i will know tomorrow.

when i get word on where it is i'll post it here and text a few people with it.

we will get a provisional 100 tickets and more if needed ( hopfully).

just to let you know we are mainly in the east stand and in a small section of the west stand as well, ok and behind one end of the goals as well.

shall we try to get a section in the east ???? any feedback is greatly needed......

Xlex
13/10/2004, 10:17 AM
just make sure they are at the back of any stand.

Need to source this Red and Black paper for the job, need to get moving on this.

BTW, hopefully we get into the west stand... It's our lucky stand:)

max power
13/10/2004, 10:18 AM

Maz
13/10/2004, 10:19 AM

Macy
13/10/2004, 10:23 AM
just make sure they are at the back of any stand.

And are covered! Don't want to dumped at the end of the east like the Pats fans singing section last year.

max power
13/10/2004, 10:31 AM
but if we stand like we should to sing they would be towards the back so we are not in the way of others

but any other ideas for the day, are we basing in the 51, i know the club want fans to spread out and fill a few pubs ( the club gets a few quid from them after the game ) got almost 2k from pubs after last years final :D

Majority of Town fans will be in the East Lower (opposite side to last year). The terraces will be all seated as well - they'll leave the seats in from tonight's game. More details on the official website later this evening.
