New Star Soccer is lethal. Even if I play for Shams in it. Into the Champions League Play off Round. 

I used to work nightporter in a quiet enough pub/b&b last year, all I ever did was play New star Soccer! Quality little game.

New Star seems to be free on the iTunes store. Will give it a lash.

Well, if you fancy an old classic, it's hard to beat going over the Half-Life series again. Did it a couple of months ago and forgot just how enjoyable (yet altogether frustrating) they can be.

My all time favourites are:

Rome:Total War (You can make it even better with the Total Realism mod. What. A. Game.)
Fallout: New Vegas (Current addiction, again with tonnes of mods)
Age of Mythology (Old but good)
C-Evo (Free download, based on the old civilisation games from the mid '90s. Simple, addictive, and brutally hard on the first few playthroughs)
New Star Soccer (For the reasons discussed)
Timesplitters 2/3 (On the PS2. Me and my bro wasted more of our lives than I'd care to mention shooting ducks, monkeys, cowboys and improbably-proportioned medieval damsels)
Championship Manager 01/02 (Too cheap and set in my ways to buy a newer version, so just get the player updates. Had a project a while back to see how high I could get the LOI's coefficient if I managed several teams at once. Second ranked league in Europe and this memorable scoreline were the results: http://foot.ie/attachment.php?attachmentid=1774&d=1308843953

I wouldn't be a massive gamer and tend to be about two years behind current releases, but I loved both Portal games.

Just bought and downloaded Kerbal Space Programme, possibly the nerdiest thing I've ever done, but I'm absolutely loving it so far!

That looks absolutely brilliant.

I set myself the ambitious goal of a 100% survival rate for all my Kerbals. My very first spacecraft exploded on the launch pad before I had time to hit the abort button. Poor Jebediah never stood a chance!

Acornvilla,

You could always re-join us again in e-sim (http://primera.e-sim.org/lan.151244/) Just don't get banned again :D

For anyone else interested we are looking for new players to come and join Ireland in this free MMOG Browser Game.

Link to the game: http://primera.e-sim.org/lan.151244/

E-Sim is a simulation of modern world. You can become a virtual citizen of one of 51 virtual countries and participate in it's political, military and economical life.

You can become an ordinary soldier, company owner or run for presidential seat and become the leader of the whole country. Help your country in wars and battles.

Ireland needs you :P

haha, we had a good run ****ing Slovenia off in fairness :P

The game was grand for the few months building an empire but we kind of reached a ceeling that we couldn't improve upon then so most of us lost interest, hence the madness of the last month or so :D

I seen Final Fantasy XIII in a shop for 8 quid today so thought I'd give it a try even knowing it got bad reviews. I can now confirm that said reviews are correct. Enix have molested a once great franchise..
I hear XIII-2 is better thou. X was the last one I really enjoyed.

Ah I liked 10, so many sidequests and quite replayable, IMO the best battle system too. I'm going to buy the HD remake when its out after xhristmas methinks, but yeah other than that all pretty bad.

xhristmas

Ah now, how'd I manage that..

I haven't had an FM since FM12. I wonder is 14 really worth investing in, a friend of mine works for them, he says they've put that kid from One Direction into the Doncaster Reserves squad :D

That football chairman game seems to be pretty popular, I'm half afraid to start playing these games again thou, I'll lose what shred of a real life I do have.
I bought my first ever android phone yesterday, I'm such an auld man.

Addictive!!!!

For the love of God, the youth of today!

Football Chairman is addictive as hell but I'm having awful trouble with cash money now. Stupid managers wrecking my buzz!

After 13 seasons in Non-League B I finally got out of it. Have a deadly manager now though.

I made a hames of it after 2 seasons when I initially got promoted that I didn't know how to renew contracts and load a load of my best players. Took me that long to sort it out!!!

IrishRossi
30/10/2013, 11:05 PM
load a load
i presume you mean lost a load,
investing in youth is the key with a manager good at coaching

Aye.

Problem was that as I had a crap manager to begin with and no cash I couldn't get rid of him. But then I lost a load of players of a better ability than what I could replace them with.

Just got promoted to League One and I'm finding it tough going. Thankfully the other teams I got promoted with (Gillingham, Port Vale) are equally as crap.

Hopefully I will scrape out of the bottom three. Have money issues now. Crowds are dwindling as I'm crap. Over draft is at 400k out of 700k.

EEK!

good bye to your team so, took me 4 teams to get it right

BonnieShels
04/11/2013, 9:04 AM
Managed to just keep my head above water. In the Championship now for my third season. This could be make or break. Crowds are dwindling in my 13000 seater. Barely covering weekly costs.

IrishRossi
04/11/2013, 10:13 AM
crowds seem to be ****ed up in it, as prem champs i could only fill my 50000 stadium for the last 2 home games

BonnieShels

Finally making headway. Up to fourth in the Championship.

I wish I'd never heard of it.. but got Finn Harps to their rightful place atop the premiership.

It only took about 30 sodding seasons.

im going for my 6th prem title in a row, only prob is im a abramovich type of chairman i demand sucess or the manager is gone

Mr A
05/11/2013, 4:58 PM
The wages go mental once you get real top players- hoping to build up crowds until I can at least make profits in the weeks of home games! I have to leave aside tens of millions to get from transfer window to transfer window without going into serious overdraft.

IrishRossi
05/11/2013, 6:13 PM
2 of my team are on over 200000 a week, lucky its football chairman because if a player asked me for that on FM he'd be gone out the door

Mr A
05/11/2013, 6:31 PM
It's nice when you cash in though, value seems to be directly linked to wages.

IrishRossi
05/11/2013, 6:37 PM
my problem is when im rolling in cash, i decide to let the manager buy players, i do wish i could tell the managers to go and look for free transfers or value for money transfers

BonnieShels

PROMOTION!

Through the Golden Gates of the Premier League we go.

I await my manager asking for a tripling of his wage...
