McCarthy denies claims he broke Colin Healy’s leg

Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy has denied that he was responsible for
breaking Colin Healy's leg during a training session last week.

Reports in the British media had claimed that Healy broke his leg after
being tackled by McCarthy during the session.

However, the former Ireland manager said there was no truth in the claims.

"He just planted his foot down and his leg broke again," McCarthy said.
"Yes, I was on the pitch when it happened and yes, I was involved in the
game, but there was absolutely no contact with me."

Healy picked up the break last week while recovering from an identical
injury that has kept him out of action for the past nine months.

Oh aye.
What would Roy say...

And apparently there's no truth to the rumour that Mick said "Take that you Cork **** " as he did it. That was just a dream he had about another Corkman.

Well, the very fact he has to deny it says something....

When I read the subject header I thought it was a joke. But McCarthy is actually being blamed for this? Strange!!!

I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world if McCarthy was involved as these things happen unless of course it was a Rednapp type challenge!!
