Dear fellow Dystopians,
I've been out of the loop on GUFC for a few seasons and I was very happy to hear that the club is on the way back...
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some information on what we can expect to see in the next year or 2 and perhaps more importantly who we know/think/suspect/fear is going to be making the decisions within the club in the next few years....

I really hope that GUFC will come back and to be a solid Div 1 team (lets be realistic here) for the next few years, if we can develop a solid platform for the club then we can work on developing young players, coaching, interest amongst fans etc. etc. However, not wishing to poo poo good work done in the past, we need to put together a smart solid management team and to create a development plan for the club... and I think we need to forget about the Prem. Div for a good few years....
I believe we were a better club in Div. 1 a few years ago pre Leeson, at least we were solidly competitive, financially secure and had decent numbers of paying punters coming through the gates...
Our Prem Div. adventure is what ruined us imho... so dish the dirt boys... who do we hear is going to be at the helm?

Before anyone says it... I'll volunteer my services/skills to the club in any way that will help... however... with the exception of RC and a few others... if it's the same faces behind the scenes at the club.... I'll be washing my hair every friday.... that might sound lousy... but we can't just drop in the same people again and expect them to deliver for the club....

No mention of anything solid yet only rumours like the comer brothers investing heavily in the club for the next 2 years plus. Talks are ongoing between GUST, Galway FA, Mervue, Salthill and the FAI on the best way forward for the development of Galway football.

In saying that very few GUFC supporters visit this website any more. If you require any further info going forward you would be better off posting on www.galwayunitedfc.net

Galway United Supporters Trust have been informed by the FAI that our application to re-enter a team in the 2013-2014 U19 League, following on from our entry into last years Southern Division, has been unsuccessful. GUST are very disappointed with this decision, in particular for the players, management team, players and supporters who put in so much work last season. We remain committed to our goal of the return to Eamonn Deacy Park of a representative team for the city and county in the LOI for 2014.

That's very disappointing. I really don't see what is achieved by keeping GUST U19s out.

That's a shame. Seemed to be going on the right track there.
