Tough game against Waterford today.

Presumably in recognition that Colin may be out for a while, both Greg and Lopes played in central midfield.
This is my fourth time seeing Lopes and he has still not impressed me at all. Gives the ball away 90% of the time. Certainly no better than Greg, Nwankwo or even players like Sweeney or Mucka (some cost saving eh - get rid of a couple of cheapos and sign up another professional who's no better  )..

Can't say Greg had a great game, but he wasn't bad and it was his first game in a while.

Behan was getting fierce cranky with a few of the others who clearly weren't teeing it up well enough for him to score another handful..

how did greg play? must be his first game in quite some time. how rusty was he?

I see nothing in the little i've seen of Lopes to get excited about either and agree that sweeney or mucca would surely be able to do as much as him in the centre. in the u21 final at the cross last week he looked like he could pass a bit alright but he didn't exactly impose himself on pretty poor opposition. what about the bosnian lad or patsy's young fella - did they play? are they likely to make the first team any time soon?

admir softic is a pretty good midfielder, making way for lopez at the mo. as for david freyne, haven't been all that impressed with him yet, question mark over his temprement too, give him time though and he might prove himself

When's the next game? I've only been to a handful this year myself but I suppose with them qualified now there'll be some more big ones coming up, yeah?
