The final should be on in a neutral venue.joke of a decision for it to be played in clonmel

Disgrace....last 2 finals have been played at a neutral venue. Yet they decide to have this on in Clonmel. Shame on the Munster FA

fanaticfan
23/11/2013, 7:00 PM
Yes a complete joke. It should on in Jackman park in limerick. Right in the middle of both towns

Second

Would avenue have grounds to appeal this as after all it is a final.. also I pressume it will be tipp refs

biglad101
23/11/2013, 8:26 PM
Not if they agreed to toss for it which I presume they did doubt the munster
council just decided Clonmel celtic will have home advantage. It is a disgrace
alright any final should be a neutral venue.

Second
23/11/2013, 9:03 PM
Well mastermind1 would know so if hes giving out about it too I doubt avenue agreed to toss a coin

biglad101
23/11/2013, 9:08 PM
Mastermind any word on how the venue was decided suppose avenue can appeal it no harm in trying.

mastermind1
23/11/2013, 10:31 PM
Lads I dont know 100 per cent but from what i m hearing no one from Avenue agreed to a coin toss or were made aware of the "alleged" coin toss that might have taken place. Surely if there was going to be something like this then both clubs would be invited to the draw. No common sense is being used here at all. A neutral venue in jackman park is the clear obvious choice. Surely they wont use Tipperary officials for the game aswell

We were expecting to travel to Limerick or Tipp Town for final. Have to say they made the wrong decision here.

biglad101

Think the first one was in turners cross. It is a joke alright all finals should be neutral venues. Anyway should be a crackin game how are Avenue doin this season?

Roberto

Apparently the MFA didn't want a neutral venue so save them the expense (can't see how expensive it could have been). It also meant of course they wouldn't have to get up off their arses and do a bit of work on the day as they could leave all that to the home club. They also thought it would be an idea to give one of the clubs a financial boost by allowing them to play it at home and therefore boost attendance. However what they didn't factor in is what both clubs themselves would have wanted as both would have favoured a neutral venue over a toss for home advantage. Also it was very poor of them to have a toss without reps of either club being present.

In theory this competition is a good idea and it's attraction would be enhanced if the final was played in Turners Cross every year (MFA Headquarters) and played later in the season when the pitches are good and the weather more likely to attract more people to the final.

Playing in clonmel does'nt bother us because its a good pitch which will suit us but its the tipp officials that we are concerned about. It's raised a few eyebrows. Some big discisions will be made Sunday less just up they will be fair and right for the sake of the game. But at the same time it's extra motivation for us to bring the cup home. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed.

Unlucky avenue? Heard it could have gone either way. Clonmel down to 10 men after 5 minutes. Decent team to hold out from a bad start like that. Any report ?

Celticsup

Celtic down to 10 after 7min. Avenue did not take advantage of Celtic going to 10 men in first half. Celtic were comfortable in first half and could have taken lead. Avenue did not threatening much in first half as they seem to stay to the same game plan in the first half after Celtic going to 10 men. Avenue started second half by pushing more forward and going more wide trying to stretching Celtic. Avenue seem to lack a out and out centre forward to take advantage of 10 man Celtic. Avenue will be disappointed that they did not take more advantage of 10 man Celtic in first half.

Celtic centre forward is a scumbag. Elbowed paddy o malley in the face after 7 mins and then punched me for saying he deserved red, even their own players were slating his behaviour. Good side celtic, very strong and fought hard for each other. Congrats to clonmel celtic

He only started playing for us this season. After that behaviour, most Cetlic supporters hope to not see him again on the pitch for us.
