First managerial casualty of the season. It was fairly inevitable however.

The big question, who's going to replace him?

This is never quite as much fun when Roddy is already in a job.

Word is that Roddy is already "a done deal".

Potential swap?? Matthews going the other way? ;)

Hearing the Roddy 'done deal' too. They'd hardly pay compensation for him?

I'd put money on Scully..if I had any to spare.

Mahon is at nearly all their home games. I reckon it will be him.

I'm sure Roddy will come out saying that Shels were mad after him but he has started something over in Athlone and he wants to continue seeing over it!!

You did remember to plan a stage two, right?

Surely it'd be a bit early for him, no? Especially as he seems to still enjoy playing.

He is a player but also a coach with Bohs and has been for the last couple of years. IIRC he was considered by many within and outside the club as a natural replacement for Fenlon but didnt have his badges. I think he has those now. Is it a bit early? Probably but he has to start somewhere and Shels (Ollie i suppose) have taken leaps of faith with inexperienced managers before...which worked out a charm.

Ah, I was under the impression he was assistant at Bohs because he was learning his trade. He's done a bit of coaching in the LSL too, or is that his brother?

Ollie Byrne could send his personal jet over to collect the man.The rate the LOI is going right now we could end up with good, sensible & intelligent managers at every club !
That would never do ! :D

I don't have the highest regard for Scully but he might do the job for Shelbourne. At least get them out of last place anyway.

I now fully expect shels bargain basement team of cloggers, rejects and hatchetmen to shoot up the table and quite possibly win the league.

Wouldnt be sure about Scully.

History there I reckon the shels fans would turn on him within minutes.

Odd that Harps fans are hearing voices regarding the manager of an opposition side :-)

Lots of options for Shels, just depends on what they want to do. The usual names will pop up, Pat Scully, Pat Dolan, maybe Rico though I doubt it. It's a good job for someone like Owen Heary.

What? There's more planning required?

No wonder I thought this was too easy.

Everybody who was at some point reported to have had the Shels job will presumably be reported to have the Waterford job at some point.

Has Johnny Macdonnell a job outside soccer? I have some idea in my mind that he was a Garda during his playing days, but I assume that he was full-time when manager of Pats. Huge money spend by Pats when he was manager on player wages and their results were poor. I remember watching them play Harps up in Ballybofey; Kerr was in the crowd (beside me) but still doing some coaching at the full-back Byrne on a fine may evening. Keith Fahy was on that Pats side and I also met an injured Gary Beckett in the chiper outside the ground before the match.

Yeah, Mick Moody, who played at Pats around the same time as Johnny was a Guard. Thought Johnny did ok at Pats. Gets a hard time from some fans who say he spent loads and won nothing, but in fairness was up against a Bohs side and a Drogheda side who were also spending big. He also managed the team when we hadn't a pot to pee in and kept us up. (Never Relegated )
