Rugby Pitches

Am I just imaginating things or have two huge rugby pitches appeared behind Hugh Brady's house? Has anyone else seen them and have they always been there?
I count 5 rugby pitches on campus now which seems excessive as the University has only seven rugby teams.
Does anyone think that the scene is being set for the rugby club to loose a pitch or two to soccer, with soccer losing a pitch or two to apartments?

Does seem that way, but they'll no doubt fight to hang on to their pitches. How many are we losing to apartments John?

One or two, depending on who you talk to. The reserves pitch is officially being "realligned" but there's not much room for it to be realligned into. I recon it could be shortened and used just for the Superleague or gotten rid of alltogether.

Has anyone else seen them and have they always been there?

Saw them alright but I don't know if they're new. It's possible that they were always there but are only visible now because of the building work going on over there.

Wasn't there talk at one stage of a rugby Superleague? Think it was put aside because of insurance issues - don't know if that would have anything to do with this?
