Both teams were awful for long periods of the game. The worrying thing for me is how Bohs got battered by a 10 man Limerick for the last 20 mins. Bohs have absolutely no cutting edge up top. With regards to the peno and red card, it should never have come to that as the ball should have been in the net before the 'tackle' came in. Buckley took an age in front of goal which gave Nzuzi the chance to get back and take him down. Typical Bohs. At the time I thought the sending off was harsh and an extra bonus for us.
Make no mistake Bohs are poor. A much poorer team than last season. McMillan, Ward, & Feely have not be replaced and it's hurting us badly. A lot of hope being placed on the return of Lyons, a young, unproven striker in this league. Which is huge pressure on the lad and nothing is guarenteed that he will prove to be the 10 goal a season striker we badly need. Having said all that, if Bohs took the glorious chance just after going 1 up, I think that would have been enough.
As for Limerick, they were a different side when they moved Galbraith into the middle and got him on the ball more. Also their front 2 (who they finished the match with) are a real handful. Very physical. Very good free kick for the equaliser - Delaney should take a long hard look at himself - been beaten on the near post from so far out was very poor. And the winner was a lesson on how not to defend a set piece - Keeper and defence just awful. Limerick's back 4 on the night looked very dodgey when tyhe ball was played on the floor, but with our lack of cutting edge were never going to ask them enough tough questions.
Its going to be a very long and hard season for Bohs. Shels have to start picking up points, they are playing better then their points total suggests and we were quite lucky to beat UCD imo. In a right old battle for survival I think.
Great place to watch a game of football Thomand.

Everyone got a hat trick against Galway United.

To illustrate that point, Derek Doyle got a hat trick for Pats against Galway.

So too did Matthew "I'd rather stick pins in my eyes" Blinkhorn....and he only played 3/4 of the game

Enough said.

Having seen both Bohs and Shels within the last week, I think there is very little between the sides. Still Bohs could have easily won the game in Limerick. Another thing, the two games I have been to this week have had 7 goals scored in them; all coming from setplays/deadball situations. At Tolka; 3 corners and 1 peno, and at Thomond; peno, free kick direct and header from a free kick. You could say that the coaches in the League of Ireland are spending a lot of time on setpieces, Graham Taylor and the former English FA head coach John Hughes (both imfluential figures from the 1990s) would be proud.

Or you could say the opposite.

I remember George Graham used a rope to tie the Arsenal players together in order to defend setpieces better
