An article in yesterday's Derry programme about the club's failure to engage with the City of Culture got me thinking.

I know the FAI have a few bits and pieces in terms of the national side, but are any clubs doing/considering doing anything in order to capitalise on it?

I highly doubt it, but an article Dodge tweeted a few weeks back about a plan to play an LOI game in America back in the 90s shows that there are ideas out there.

I believe Harps have something organised for the summer. Or there's something being planned. Not entirely sure what it is, but I heard there's some sort of big day out in the summer for Harps fans old and new.

I know there are plans underway for Cork City but it would have been good if there was more input from the FAI / Other Clubs, made more of it. Its a good opportunity for LOI

Oriel Park will host a tournament as part of the Gathering celebrations that are taking place across the country this year. The under 13 competition featuring Hibernian FC, Brighton & Hove Albion, a Meath Select and a Dundalk Schoolboys League team will take place this Thursday (April 4th) in Oriel Park from 11am. All are welcome!

Would the City of Culture Company be willing to engage with the club? Has there been any contact or correspondence between the two?
