SHAMROCK ROVERS AT HOME THIS FRIDAY, When the two teams met last at turners cross there was a great crowd and athmosphere with the ****** song at half time ect..

Do you think the crowd disturbances of the second half of the game could have an affect on the attendance this friday night with families opting to stay away.

Still this is a really big game for city with 3 points a must for city. Cant wait till friday.

RE: crowds away.

Thtas definately not attributable to the Rovers fans or any of that malarky, sunshine supporters don't take kindly to draws and defeats. Chances are the 1nil win over dumpland city passed them by.

I think if we win on Friday all the doom and gloom will be gone and we can be optimistic for the final 1/3 of the season. UEFA place would be good.

I would say 3 points are a formality rather than a must :)

They even made dublin look good!

It might be better for the club if we did NOT qualify for Europe next year. The Inter-toto was a blast but our season collapsed after it. I would trade a cup or EL title for two good years of good runs in Europe.

No way ..... anything in Europe is good ..... FFS .... it is the players not performing when back in the league that did it. If the club wants to be more progressive then the squad should just weather it better. Some of the games we lost were brutal and if we were playing to percentage of our ability, then it wouldn't have been a problem.

Playing in Europe for any player is a bonus and one of the selling points of the club to any would be City player.

The team just needs a good kick in the áss and drop all the politics and bullshít that we've had to put up with.

every club needs to play in europe..
i wouldnt use intertoto as an excuse of not doing well in the league,,

not doing well in the league is down to the players and the managers and the current standard that cork coty are at ...

nothing got to do with europe

Not to go on about shels agian
but deportivo one week dublin city the next

and i dont think were doing so bad in the league :D

Not a chance.
The club needs to be in Europe every season.

It's rubbish to say that the inter-toto is to blame for us not winning the league. Shels have played more European games and it hasn't had an adverse effect on them so there's no reason to say it has anything to do with our league position.
We weren't in Europe at all last season and we still only finished third, yet we're still in with an excellent chance of finishing second this season.

I can't believe that anyone would prefer if the club didn't qualify for Europe. It's where we should want to be every season, the experience the players gain from it, the money a good run generates, the enjoyment the fans derive from the away trips, the media coverage it gets us, we can't afford to give up any of that.
I know people who never took City seriously before we beat Malmo and NEC but now they try to get to as many games as possible and always speak about the club in a good light. Europe puts us on the map and that's where we need to be.

the club needs europe simple as dat. for both commercial and player reasons. but also if we dont qualify for europe this season it means weve gone backwards frm last season when this season should have been about progresssion to 2nd or 1st place.

Cant wait for the Rovers game Frday night. I think last weeks low key win over Dublin City was just what the team needed. There was less publicity than most other games this season and then we nicked a late winner(although after watching it on Chorus, we could have scored 1 or 2 more in that last 10 minute spell), which should boost the morale. Hopefully the lack of recent home games will add a bit of excitment to the game and build a good atmosphere for Friday night. (Also the sister is gone on holiday so her Season ticket passes to me :D )

Have faith in him, he is God afterall.

Flynn will tear some defence apart sooner or later, and i reckon it will be sooner.

By all accounts he had a good game against CHF. With any luck, with a good support behind him, Friday will be the night where he puts all his injuries behind him.

John O Flynn = future legend.

Well, at some stage this season ye're bound to give someone a right kicking, and I reckon it will be Rovers on Friday. They are in total disarray, and I safely predict a 5-0 drubbing with 2 a piece for JOF and Fenn, with Georgie coming off the bench to chip in with another.

Learn your history pal. The question should be "are we the biggest club?" and the answer is yes of course.

If you had gone through what we have in the last 17 years, well there wouldnt be a senior club down there. A bit like 1983 then.........

I think at this stage it's obvious to everyone that his heart and head are just not in it. He wants to go back to England no matter who takes him which at the rate he's going will be a very low division side, if any. He doesn't have the fight or the speed of when he first came and is afraid to get stuck in lately. Although after all that I hope he proves me wrong on Friday.

I think anyone who was at the Dublin city game would contest that assertion - Johnno worked like a demon the whole way through. Give the guy a chance he will come good again and soon.

The person who described Johnno as a "future legend" has a very short memory. Johnno is a city legend he's given us 2 great seasons and has shown glimpses this season as well - he's a legend end of story.
If he does leave he'll go with my best wishes. The ever growing amount of abuse he's getting is gonna do little to convince him to stay so please let's all be a bit more up beat for the rest of the season and get behind all the players. The end of the season will be soon enough to be talking about players leaving etc.

Don't know what it is, but games against Rovers seem to have that extra something. Always a good occasion. City will either give them a good hiding, or Mooney will return and have a blinder keeping it at 0-0. I'm gonna go with City scoring at least 3.

One and a half good seasosn hardly makes one a legend?

By that reasoning, Noel Hartigan would be an all time City great.

When was it that Noel had those good seasons ??????
The quality shown by Johnno when on form is as good as anything ever produced by a city player. I'd be the first to admit that he's not currently at his best but he is working very hard and is in my book a city legend .

How's lombard these days? Also how does a certain city "fan" live with himself glassing a Rovers fan in the face?
