Pubs ban away fans ?

Is it true that all the pubs in the Turners Cross are have placed a ban on away fans for next Sunday ?
This probably being after the Horseshoe was thrashed the last time round.
I hope there is a good police presence, inside and outside the ground. The Rovers fans seem to cause more trouble outsdie the ground than inside.
They should be sheperded by police from the train station to the ground and back again after the match.

Rovers fans can only enter through the St. Annes End.

I've also just heard they being asked (by the club?) to take the later train down on sunday so most won't get to the ground before 1.30.

The Hoseshoe had a sign up. I don't know whether the others are banning them.

Good point. And considering there is supposed to be close on 500 of them arriving there would need to be a lot more of a Garda presence than there normally is.

over the years the rovers fans always cause more trouble than any other away fans. i remember the road from Bishopstown to town a few years ago being like Beiruit!!! bus windows put in the lot......didnt they rip seats from the stand in the cross a few years ago?

i got a puck my self on my way home by the Tory top 2 years ago just cause of my City jersey....there was about of them and one of me so i legged it! ha ha

seriously though there needs to be more of a police presence at the ground alright.

According to this (http://www.srfcultras.net/) website most of the Jackeens are coming down on the 9.50 train which only gets to Cork at 13.10.

Replace hooligans with drunken idiots and percentage would be about 20. I've feeling you'll experience some real hooliganism come the Rovers' match. Of course if everyone expects probelems then it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It might be an idea to inform the Rovers fans in advance that they are banned from the locals so they'll drink in town instead of causing trouble when refused.

I would think after what happened last time both the club and the gardaí will be more prepared this time. The fact the FAi is in charge of the match as well will probably mean that they will have the full compliment of "security" staff...

In tonights echo it sid 1500 of them were coming down.

The stewards and gardaí will have their work cut out but I'm willing to bet some Rovers lads will try take the shed

the horseshoe are dead right- if it had beena one off, it might have been different, but this was the second time in 2 or 3 years that they trashed the place. stewards would want to be on their guard.
