Well some scrap of good news. We're off the bottom of the table - Monaghan were deducted 3 points yesterday for playing a suspended player.

Here is the news from RTE's Aertel:

-------------------
The eircom League today announced that
Monaghan United have been deducted
three points for playing a suspended
player.

Jimmy Fullam played in the eircom
League First Division match away to
Athlone Town on Friday, September 3.

The decision was taken at last night's
eircom League Board of Control meeting.

Monaghan now share bottom spot with
Limerick ahead of tonight's clash with
Dundalk.

------------------

Great news now we need a draw against Gallimh, presuming Dundalk will win tonight (although they are no great shakes), to get some clearance . We have Mons at home yet and will beat them. Athlone and Cobh are catchable yet...Come on the Blues

well dundalk did ye no favours at all, back to the drawing board, again!

Will you be travelling up tonight? If so, beware of the 20 odd scottish lads in kilts from loch lomond. They might be a bit vocal as they are over to celebrate a supporter of GUFC 40th birthday. Should be good crack :D

Can't fhucking believe that result...2 down after 8 mins, they pull one back and then play 50 odd minutes with a spare man, and they still can't beat Monaghan!!
We would be really screwed if the points weren't deducted from Athlone and Monaghan...although I'm now eternally grateful that a regime with a few quid to keep us afloat has come in because we don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of staying in the EL otherwise........ :( :(

Cant believe that result last night. For F**ks sake Dundalk ! It's was only Monaghan with 10men

Monaghan have a one goal better goal difference than us so a win in Galway(I know, but u gotta hope)will get us off the bottom.

btw here is a classic Brian Clough which is very relevant to us at the mo:

"The physio shouts out to Cloughie ... 'He cant go back on, he's taken
a knock to the head, he doesn't know who he is.'
Cloughie replies ....'Tell him he's f**king Pele and put him up
front." ;)

Could do with him tonight!!

btw there will be a few up Tonight in Gallimh so look out for the Limerick Jerseys a far more fearsome sight than 20 Kilted Scots :)

Heres hoping

John

Robbie Collins scored again! In fact, all three goalscorers on the night were at Dublin City last season.

How is Robbie playing?
