English FA considering introduction of 'sin bins'
10:32 Tuesday September 21st 2004
The English Football Association is considering the introduction of US-style "sin bins" for players who receive yellow cards during games.
The FA has established a working group to evaluate the proposal, which was put forward by the Football League.
A report on the matter is due to be published next month. If the report backs the move, it would have to be proposed to the International Board, which comprises of four FIFA officials and one representative each from the four British associations.

Good god no. sure why not bring in video referees and kick ins and no offsides and 14 referees in each half and put sensors in the ball and on the goal line and sure why not bring in time outs and break the game into four quarters while we're at it? ****** to that i say

Definately against that idea. They're making the game too "Americanised" with stuff like that.
What's wrong with a simple yellow or red?

load of ****** whats wrong with yellow and red cards? its part of the bloody game perfect example chelsea are playing man city and duffer is running at danny mills drops the shoulder and jinks past him but mills slides in and fouls him, yellow card nothing malicious but a deserved yellow. What happens then everyone is telling duff to get at mills every chance he gets, its part of the game ffs leave it alone.
I hope to god Sepp Blatter doesnt get wind of this because if he does we will probably end up with 6 players sitting in the sin bin watching a penalty shoot out because he doesnt want draws the muppet
Looks like another nail in the coffin of football.Money motivated ideas. There would not be as many bookings or sendings off in the first place if they actually left players tackle like they used to.Game is now full of overpaid primma donna's...

I personally think it could work...it certainly has in rugby and makes defences in particular think more carefully before doing something stupid.

No way joe soap im sorry but i cant agree with that cos u will see more diving from attacking player to try and get a 10 min advantage also most people dont mean to get booked they are just missed timed challenges or a moment of losing their head whereas it works in rugby because of lot of deliberate killing of the ball goes on at the bottom of rucks or blatant offsides which are more technical offences than foul play if you catch my meaning

Ridiculous i say...........can't see that happening...they will kill the game...I do reckon they should have a sensor in the ball that decides whether it goes over the line...that would be funky...
