Irish independent preview by Dan McDonnell, in the preview in the paper he goes through each team but not included in the online version.
Does this include the First Division?

What's the FAI's problem with GUST. With the FAI having gone all out in the past to ensure senior football remained in Limerick and despite demoting Cork and Derry for well known reasons, there was positive noise from the FAI for having Cork and Derry involved in the league.
Nobody wants another "people whining about people whining about GUST" thread so PM me if you're bothered.

Something similar in the Limerick Leader. The first time there was ever anything like this for us.
It's great when local papers get behind their clubs. Are many other clubs getting this type of coverage?

Seems to be some decent coverage on indo site?
After reading backpage few people about here may have to revise their predictions - now Derry have retained Stephen McLaughlin :(

Harps usually get a decent bit of coverage out of the Donegal News and the Donegal Democrat. Most years there would be a squad poster in the paper around the start of the season with fixtures pull-outs and such.
Not really much in the way of magazines though.

Great stuff. While I have to endure the endless wait for a Kerry club to be in the League of Ireland, I will be turning up to Thomond Park for a few games over the course of the season.

Well done getting his registration through so quickly what with him being on the bench for Forest last night.
I really don't get why “my only hope for the season is that no team goes bust” is a cliché either. It's more like a dream that is destined to be dashed.

Another local paper doing a two page spread on the club. Last season we were lucky to get the bottom corner of the page. Huge improvement.

They probably think that because Limerick are playing in Thomond Park they'll be playing rugby this year.

I don't know how everyone else feels about it but this is the most media coverage I have ever experienced for Limerick and the league. Granted there isn't too much for me to base it on but between extratime.ie, score.ie, papers, radio, television, numerous Facebook and twitter accounts/pages, its the most build up I have seen. That and the fact it is all positive press at the moment is only a good thing in my opinion.

Does not sound like it's worth it.
What was the Democrat's one like? I haven't seen it yet.

Link there. You can like it. Put your details in (use a fake email and phone if you like) and then unlike it straight away.
In fairness to the Mirror, their Friday pull out is 8 pages every week and usually very good

Is there one in the Star today as well? Or have they not bothered doing one?
Agree about the Mirror normally being best for coverage every Friday, btw. They're the only ones who do a pullout section on the league weekly.

Not sure what Kenny is complaining about re: "integrity" of the fixture list. They reversed last season's fixture list, then took what looked the most interesting round and brought it forward to opening weekend.

This comment of Kenny's in the Independent is more interesting.
"I was going to take some time, travel and have a look at teams," he says. "And when Dundalk contacted me, well, there had been talk about their (artificial) pitch over the last few years and the club have maybe gone through a bad time.
"But then I thought,'it's a real football town. It has got great potential and tradition', so I decided, 'f**k the pitch'. And so what if the stadium isn't great? Raw passion is more important than any of that. It's my job to bring that back. To reignite the interest."
Class.

What is Kenny on about "integrity" of the fixture list? Everyone ends up playing each other 3 times over the season.
He's clearly bricking it that he'll be given a roasting tonight by the Rovers fans.
