If you are interested in becoming a Player's Agent then you should enrol now for the next FIFA Players' Agent Examination which will take place on April 4 at FAI Headquarters in Abbotstown. Agents play an important role in professional football and, every week, the Football Association of Ireland of receives queries from people wanting to know how they can become a Players' Agent. The process is relatively simple but it requires a lot of study on the part of the aspiring candidate.
To become a Players' Agent a person must first sit a written examination on the regulations that apply to agents, players, transfers, contracts, clubs and associations. The examination material, which includes statutes, regulations and circulars, can all be downloaded from FIFA official website, www.fifa.com,
The examination takes place across the world on the same date and there are two exams each year which are always six months apart.
Those sitting the examination in Ireland also need to familiarise themselves with the rules and regulations of the Football Association of Ireland and the Airtricity League Participation Agreement as each examination includes five domestic questions in addition to the 15 which are supplied directly by FIFA.
