Nice one. Don't blame RTE for not picking one up this week since the golf is on, but this should be the time of year they're showing a game every week.

Details.....

Setanta Sports have announced that they will show four Airtricity League games during July starting with next Friday’s Premier Division game at Turner’s Cross between Cork City and Sligo Rovers.

The other confirmed games are the July 12 meeting of Shamrock Rovers and Derry City at Tallaght Stadium and the July 19 game between Cork City and Dundalk at Turner’s Cross. The Cork City v Dundalk game will now kick-off at 8:05pm.

Setanta will also show a game on Friday, July 26, but have not yet made their choice.

In addition to screening seven games in the Setanta Sports Cup already this season, Setanta also broadcast the Co Louth derby between Drogheda United and Dundalk.

The matches involved are:

Friday, July 5: Cork City v Sligo Rovers, Turner’s Cross, 7:45pm (Setanta Sports).
Friday, July 12: Shamrock Rovers v Derry City, 8pm (Setanta Sports).
Friday, July 19: Cork City v Dundalk, 8:05pm (Setanta Sports).
Friday, July 26: TBA (Setanta Sports).

July 26 has to be Sligo-Rovers, right? Unless RTE has that on the Saturday and Setanta take Pats-Cork or Limerick-Derry.

Nah Nah Nah Nah

We're away in Norway on either the Tuesday or Wednesday before that so there's no way we should be made to bring our game a day forward.

I've no doubt that we will.

Have any games ever been moved to a Friday for TV? I'd imagine the Saturday evening slot would be ideal for Setanta, actually, more so than RTE.

Wont be Limerick - Derry. Derry play Trabzonspor on the Thursday. Think Setanta waiting on the first round of Euro games before they choose.

I'd imagine Sligo v Rovers is the game they have planned. But I believe the FAI are waiting on an agreement between both clubs to move said fixture.

Imagine.......Believe....

I would think it should be one or the other!

I fully expect us to be made play on the Friday night but I think it'll be a total joke when it happens

For some reason listed as the friday on Extratime but the Saturday on both clubs websites

I think Extratime's listings just default to the Friday. It's on Saturday in the official league programme.

There was an FAI email sent out regarding changes to fixtures because of European games. I deleted the email myself and can't remember exactly what it said, but it was something to do with Sligo v Shamrock Rovers game waiting on confirmation from the clubs, or had yet to be decided whether to switch it or not.

July 26 confirmed as Pats-Cork. Presumably that'll see SRFC v SRFC on RTE then?

Does anyone know when the next list of live TV games will be announced? Surely RTE will have a good few more planned for the season, in sept & oct?

So nothing during the Summer from RTE? I thought this was suppose to be a record season for games shown?

Surprised not to see more of our games televised due to ease of setup in Thomond park. Maybe they just don't fancy a fairly empty 26,500 stadium on telly. We have only had two games televised this year.

Probably more to do with the Sunday kick-offs and the summer league.

You've had as many home games as anybody on RTE. Tallaght, Dalymount and Thomond the only 3 with 2 games shown

Probably related to RTE belief that ye are playing in Jackman Park this season

I hope neither of them show it to be honest, I want us to take a big a crowd as possible down. TV coverage and a possible Thursday night would have a big impact on attendance and hence atmosphere.

I remember a few being shown over the years.

They showed us against Galway near the end of the 2006 season, after they showed us against Rovers in the Cup.

Last First Division game that was shown live on TV was Harps v Athlone in 2007, I believe.

It'sridiculous that we have to play the Bray game the night before the Dundalk game. The FAI Louth bias quite clear on this occasion

First time that has been said re. Dundalk ;)

I'm already looking forward to this game, reckon you'll have the biggest Dundalk crowd ever in Inchicore, TV or not.

Maybe since the 1988 Cup Semi Final anyway, that was some game, I think Barry Kehoe scored after 5 mins, won 3-0?

Both Semi Finals and the Final will be live on RTE Two. Semi-finals will be shown as a double header on Sunday October 6th.

The superbly biased DLK FM sat afternoon show got terribly confused by all of this today. They had their panel on reviewing the weeks football and for some reason thought the double header (TV) meant it was a double header at the Aviva. A few texts later to clarify events, totally dismissed, and they discussed the logistics of having 4 sets of fans at the Aviva in one day.

Another brilliant line was during the second half last night, 5-1 up 'Ah I'm just fed up with this game now, its dead'...........then they started talking about the Pats game, for about 5 mins, and just didnt bother with the commentary.

Comedy Gold.

Charlie Darwin

Would a double-header at the Aviva be a bad idea (apart from clubs losing home advantage)?

For starters, the four competing clubs would lose money

Too much to expect the FAI to compensate them? Yeah, you're right.
