Jason Abbot hasn't signed for rams unfortunately. He is with Cork City u19s and could be trainin with the first team also if I'm not mistaken. Great young player.

Cobh were very impressive last night, limerick missing a few, davin will score for fun in the 1st div this season.

I'd caution against getting carried away, yes it was a good performance with some very good displays Gary Collins, Brian Fitzgerald and Ian Long at RB did well, Davin will score a lot of goals but this is a young team who will be excellent one week and not so good the next.
Friday night will be a different matter against a City team who by all accounts were very impressive against Cliftonville.
Regardless of what has gone on in the past in the club this team deserve the support of the town, they are playing for the jersey so get the message out there.

I agree I think the starting 11 will do well but injurys to any of them and there is a lack if strenght and depth in the squad. Not a bad crowd last night a couple of wins and the crowd will pick up even more.

Realistically we could be at 50-1 but with the league so small and unpredictable there not taking chances wit anyone, the crowd should be around 400+ for Friday wit a few down from Forus....Im pleased we have so many locals playing as that is what we should be aiming for long term to keep interest-the town will always be our catchment area,Id hope for a win Friday but would gladly settle for a draw against what is a good City team

1all draw tonight in front of a decent crowd, 600 plus I reckon.

What kind of attendance would ye think is achievable for ye this year?

peterpan
15/02/2013, 9:50 PM
To be honest it depends on how they start, if they start well theres no reason why it won't be between 250 and 350 every week

If they start well, and continue to do well, with a lack of football there in recent years, there's no reason as to why they shouldn't be getting over 400 a game.

If they stutter, then I'd imagine Cobh to be reaching 200 a week.

What kind of attendances were they getting in the A League and U-19s?

Very impressed tonight. For a team that are only just coming together I thought they were superb.

Would have been full value for the win. Mikey O'Shea ran the show, Deady destroyed Dan Murray, Two centre backs were very good, Dub was very good too, would be fair to say that the whole team were impressive.

Great goal by Mikey. Don't understand how Graeme Kelly came around to the fact that it was a penalty when you consider the linesman never even flagged for a foul....But sure it wouldn't be football in Cork without the Kelly family making a mess of games.

Things look good!

I must say that I had a very good view of it and it a stonewall pen, a good foot inside the box.

Have no doubt it was inside the box I just didn't think it was a foul. From where I saw it the ball was won.

Couldn't see the penalty as I was down the other end the fog was so bad. Team were impressive and without dav and get the word out around town that this team DESERVE their support. Couldn't fault the team at all. But again its only pre- season. I would have put the crowd at about 750.

The echo estimated it at 1600.. wasnt at the game but by the sounds of what ye are saying, that reporter would want to learn how to count

There's not a hope there was that many there, probably trying to make it more appealing to the people they are on the fence about attending Loi games.

Is the EA Sports Cup game vs Waterford this week? I assume this is a mid week game? I work not too far from Waterford City so might make the spin to the game.

Have to say I was impressed, young long at right back played well in the two games, Brian Fitz was quality and davin and Conor will sniff out plenty of goals during the season, I still don't think they will be as strong as harps, Waterford, Longford and athlone but will pick up plenty of points especially at home.

My man of the match display..micky o shea ..he dominated mid field on his own .great goal. .it was a one man show in there.. long did very well .Fitzgerald is one tough cookie .. meady and deady worked well together left mid . Up front dubs had his dancing boots on .. spillane was strong and won the alot of the high balls and good work for the lead up to the goal.. .. a good blent to the team ..oh yeah mad keeper ..what more do we want

I wouldn't be to bothered, most of the team were in mid season in the Msl or the u19 league so match fitness shouldn't ba a problem.
