Thanks BWA, I think the club are some way off getting any sort of communications in place. Keep 'em coming!

(Hoping we'll at least arrange a pre-season friendly with ye, its been a few years!)

Brian Fitzgerald ex Tralee dynamos centre half signing aswell

Conor Meade, John Meade, Alan o Flynn and Peter o Halloran also signed.

Peter o Halloran has not signed for ramblers. Peter joined midleton in this transfer window and has not moved again. Jonathan Spillane who played up front with dub for rams 2 years ago has signed from Douglas hall.

Don't think John is fit enough for Loi to be honest, he was playing aul with pearse up to last season

Cobh Ramblers signings: Davin O'Neill, John Meade, Conor Meade, Brian Fitzgerald, Andrew Bhandarkar, Martin Deady, Alan O Flynn, Gary Collins, Jonathan Spillane, Robert Birdsall (GK).

Cobh are expected to confirm a friendly with Cork City next week at St Colman’s Park. They kick their league campaign off with a tie at home to Wexford Youths on March 9.

That squad might not be too bad. Certainly not bottom of the table candidates anyway.

Has dav definitely signed? Was speaking to him yesterday and said nothing to report yet with regards him signing? Think Mikey O Shea can be added to that list as well.

what i hear he didnt break a sweat and scored 28 goals for pearse last year..
been told also he was playing well for douglas hall so he should do well.

well done to cobh in the coming year

To be fair 1st div Loi is a massive step from aul, 28 goals isn't a massive boast considering the level that he will be expected to deliver at this season!

as far as im aware he had been with Cobh for 6 years so we see like the rest of the player how he gets on, i dont think Dave Hill would take a player back unless he was sure he could do a job for him.. and have not seen him play with Douglas Hall MSL

peterpan
01/02/2013, 4:09 PM
He has never played Loi with cobh and he never set the u19 or the A championship alrite either, maybe a decent impact sub at best.

the sub
01/02/2013, 4:48 PM
fact he did .. you seem to have a bit of a problem he's called back .. and he never played u 19s because its only around two years another fact .... all comming out out of the woodwork again ..

Does anyone have the complete list of signed players and under 19s?

id say it again he did play for Hendo ..check it out .. dont worry about it ..as you will never get the chance .. the club is going in the right direction .. good under 19s team and a strong loi squad, when Davin ..meade ect sign for the club with no pay thats what i call success

Great to see the club back, didnt expect to have any signings to be honest so am really happy to see such expierence and quality been added.....Think Athlone will be my favourites for the league as Id fancy Roddy to sing a lot of quality--think we will fit nicely in third or fourth!

Does Roddy ever sing anything other than quality?

Good to see that there playing for noting, they probably got enough back pay that they were owed to keep them going for the season!!!

Good to see that there playing for noting, they probably got enough back pay that they were owed to keep them going for the season!!!

What would be the problem with getting money they are owed?

peterpan
03/02/2013, 8:52 AM
Isn't that the reason that they didn't get a licence for the last couple of years?? Outstanding moneys owed to past players.....so the Fai didn't strike a deal with the pfai to pay off players so cobh could get a licence??? Back to the bench with you sub!!!

the sub
03/02/2013, 1:03 PM
Again ur wrong..get ur facts right first u know nothing

peterpan
03/02/2013, 1:23 PM
My facts are spot on bud, you don't have to protect your beloved team on here with lies!

Mr A
03/02/2013, 1:34 PM
Good to see the first row on here. Cobh weren't truly back until we saw some infighting :)

the sub
03/02/2013, 3:01 PM
Ur still wrong again. I know u nothing about the club go back to la la land peterpan.. the club is back ..players are back ..strong under 19s .. so dont worry about anything.. we wont have any infighting .. were going to support the club end of ...

peterpan
03/02/2013, 3:12 PM
Ya a few good players signed ie Conor Meade and davin, some not so good I won't mention names and an average u 19 side with Brendan probably the only one that will get near the first team, but then again I'm not wearing cobh tinted glasses:cool:

the sub
03/02/2013, 3:25 PM
Sorry if they didnt ask you to sign .. not to worry .. enjoy your view from the stand..
Dont worry if u dont think the players are not up to ur standard.. the person who counts is the manager .. after all he picks the team.. are u on about a un 19 who some have un 19 league of ireland winners medals and i think they also have un 16 national cup medals .. have u

peterpan
03/02/2013, 3:35 PM
An under 19 elite medal??? I think not!!! And my playing days a well behind me, but I still no a quality player when I see them, and the likes of Jonathan Spillane and John Meade just won't cut it in the Loi.

the sub
03/02/2013, 3:39 PM
Well how could they have elite medals its their first season in that league ..ur aul days i say..

peterpan
03/02/2013, 3:42 PM
In fact most of the players that won that u19 title with cobh don't even play with them this season as they are over age but you will probably deny that to:p

the sub
03/02/2013, 3:47 PM
Everyone know that and thats another fact .. but we still have a few that were underage that won tge league still playing .. we also have about 4 who next year will be playing elite un 19s ..so that tells u how strong the club is another fact.. you need to stop sucking on lemons they make u very bitter

peterpan
03/02/2013, 3:58 PM
Not bitter at all, infact I hope do very well this year but I am a realist and I am honest enough to point out the frailties of the team been built.... Unlike you my friend!

the sub
03/02/2013, 4:08 PM
If u say so .. as i said the manager pick the players he want and he has a strong squad all playing for nothing .. even the player who were owed money going back 4:years

marty
03/02/2013, 5:09 PM
In fairness Peterpan the club has come from nothing the past few seasons to a nicely assembled squad, nobody expected anything from this season but with the signings we have made in a poor division the team should be mid table.....do you support Cobh??

peterpan
03/02/2013, 5:28 PM
I would fancy them to finish above the two Galway teams but that would be about it, as I said its great that cobh are back and yes they have some quality players signed but the way some people on here are talking there in for a big shock. I'm more of a football fan then a cobh fan, you will find me in turners cross on abfriday night and st colemans park on a Saturday night!

marty
03/02/2013, 5:48 PM
In fairness I think Im the only one who was maybe a tad optimistic in an earlier thread about leauge position come the end of the season....Havent seen much of the first division the past few seasons so maybe Im in for a shock! The year we won the league we were not favourites so mid table is def achievable with the right attitude,a quality centre half is prob a must in this division so this is maybe where we get caught.

Comic Book Guy
03/02/2013, 5:53 PM
Dav, Conor and John meade are good experienced players, the likes of Gary Collins and brendan frahill are on their way to becoming very good players but another 2 or so experienced players wouldn't go astray. So at least we have football to debate and a team to support so enough with the bickering.

ah lads leave it for PMs or something, there has been plenty of arguing on these forums in the past so lets just leave it there, and some of the grammar and spelling leaves a lot to be desired :D

forgive me for not reading all that has been posted, but are there people out there expecting a title challenge this season, cause i haven't met anyone who expects anything near that, this season i would think will be all about not getting embarrassed on a weekly basis, there are some of the older players in the squad who have plenty of LOI experience and while some may not have played there in a few years, simply having them around to impart some knowledge on the younger players is worth more than the amount of blades of grass they can cover,

we wont know till probably a few games into the season what kind of a squad of players we have, but dave hill has been here before with ramblers, not in this particular situation but the man has been around long enough to pick a decent squad of players, and personally i think a mid-table finish this season would be a major achievement for us, i do expect to be fighting tooth and nail for every point we get in the table,

worst case scenario we finnish bottom and try and improve again next year, as we all know the LOI is noting if not crazy

also Sub any chance you can get your hands on a full squad list, see as you seem to be the know

Robert Birdsall is the keeper.

Jesus Peterpan your positivity is certainly admired. Absolutely pointless judging a team who haven't kicked a ball yet.

@the sub Dont think Chubbs has signed. Pretty sure he's still with Avondale. Especially seeing as Dub is gone, meaning increased game time for him.

The squad at the moment is made up of Davin O'Neill, John Meade, Conor Meade, Brian Fitzgerald, Andrew Bhandarkar, Martin Deady, Alan O Flynn, Gary Collins, Jonathan Spillane, Robert Birdsall + the Under 19 players.

Less negativity lads and more positivity please and who knows something special might happen this season. :)

Good signings both ball players andrew will dominate midfield with passes wasted at limerick by scully
